I don’t think Green brought any major new revelations to the party but I was curious to see whether any of his work would be included in the final book or whether his role was purely to maintain the momentum of the blog. It seems clear now that it was the latter. i agree with your analysis. in addition, i suspect JR was in an untenable situation and gave JG this opportunity while he sorted out his unfortunate circumstances. this would have been all the more reason for JG to tread more carefully and tey to preserve JR's body of work. i think JG was very careless.

I do believe that James finally came to his senses and gave the pompous ass his pink slip... ; ) love the last line...pompous ass / pink slip. ;)

Thanks Maruchan. It sounds like Nancy's search was done on the 19th. Ten days after Maura disappeared. I actually didn't think that much time had passed. The press makes comment about police...with their dogs and doesn't specify the type of dog but I don't know what day that occurred and even if it occurred. I have seen some police dogs that I thought sucked at tracking/trailing. But then again, I have also seen some k9sar dogs that while they actually found me, the handler didn't recognize that the dog found me. And I have never been on a find, living find, personally that was a track 10 days old. Again, I am not a dog guy in SAR so I have limited experience with them. I need to trust the handlers to know if their dogs are on track though often it is obvious to even me. Anyone else remember or know anything else that they can post that will further help my poor memory? Bill

They reported the search was done Thursday but the report was filed on the 20th. You see were the confusion comes in? And the 12th was Nancy? That is closer to what I remembered but the documentation in the press report is not clear. Bill

For the record, my little sister was being stalked and these charges stem from my attempt to explain that to the court. As for John, he wasn't "fired". I think he brings important analysis to the discussion and he's welcome to contribute again in the future.

Alson Olden wrote: Will we solve this before a decade has passed? This will never be solved until some new evidence comes to light. The current information is absolutely too thin to draw ANY conclusions. And the known information doesn't point to any particular manner or cause of her disappearance. Most are possible, but currently there is no evidence for many of the possibilities. The only good news is, that it might not take a lot to break this case. A single bone found or a misplaced word dropped here or there. That might be all it would take. Bill

Bill Bill, WMUR has a video dated February 20, 2004, the opening of which says: "They searched with dogs by air and on foot. They've checked everything from bus logs to snow tracks, and now after 10 days, officials say they have suspended the ground search for 21 year old Maura Murray." The beginning of the video starts with the search dog, and what appears to be Nancy Lyon taking it around the area (I have seen her picture elsewhere on the net and believe it is her, although I could be wrong). The dog could be a Belgian Malinois or really any type of German Shepherd, it's hard to tell. The dog in the video doesn't look like the other dogs she had in the photos I saw of her. She passed away in 2011. I'll put the link to the video in the next post in case Topix won't let me post it here.

James, hopefully your incarceration at least resulted in some resolution and security for your sister. An unnerving situation to say the least. Hope it ends and best wishes to you and your family.

I just noticed that the New England K-9 Search and Rescue website where Nancy Lyon's information is located says:
"Volunteer airscent search dog teams searching wilderness, water and debris."
