Judged: 1 1 1 No one is sure whether or not a crime was committed? So... her leaving MA has nothing to do with what is thought to have been foul play in NH? Is that about right? What happened in MA stays in MA? The crime against Maura, if there was one, began in NH? If the latest cheating theory is true, then does that rule out MA? |

Judged: 2 2 1 I thought we finally put this to bed until we get some new evidence of something, anything. Except for the periodic mindless drone of Shacks, "someone knows something" comment. Guess that thinking was premature. Seven more years of this mindless windmilling. And actually, I think Snowy, Wowzer, myself and several others have always maintained that it was critical to know about why Maura fled, ran away, whatever you want to call it. It was family, and Shack and others related that insisted that anything previous in her life prior tot he crash had no meaning and should not be looked at. To the consternation of many of us who thought that was an absurd position. Also lending itself to gross speculation as to what might have been in her prior life that was so bad. Then that became part of the focus. Without knowing the reasons for her fleeing the area, there is no way to know her mindset. Something apparently lost on her family, friends, and people who have never met her and claim they are her friends. The world is a huge place. It would be useful to have some indicator of where to look based upon her mental state and possible plans she might have made. Bill |
Judged: 1 1 Well, maybe they agreed to something over Christmas break. Nothing official, maybe no ring, but a promice of sorts. And Maura was unsure enough about a marriage to Billy, to share this with her dad. I'm not sure about this, but I thought that Maura came back to school in late Jan 2004, right from the Rauches household in Ohio. Someone can surely correct me if I'm wrong and I hope they will. It's been said that Maura had a nursing job all lined up for the summer of 2004 so she could be closer to Billy. Sharon said said that whenever Billy had to go away, she could hear Maura crying in the other room. Something very big might have changed that, even though they were together over Christmastime and went hiking in the white mountain in the fall previous to that. |

hey, thanks. I like it when someone can help me figure things out, and you being a nurse and all makes me agree with your take on this. I'm not sure why I thought it was a nursing job, so thanks for setting me straight. I wonder if anyone else read this somewhere. |

just found this, no more time tonight to look for more reports of her taking a nursing job. But the second post down has it jumbled to imply the job was all set for 2005, it's highlighted and easy to find. I am certain it also says somwhere that the summer job in question was for summer 2004. Didn't they all know Billy would be deployed in 2005? Either way, from what I recall, this was what the forum thought, and if somebody knew better, I wished they'd've said so. Just wondering here....and another reason I'm posting this is because this is where it was stated that Maura had more than enough food for a couple of days, same post. I doubt they were talking chips and dip, lol. Maybe Maura did reach a destination, bought food, but ran out of time to grab all of the things she had in the car. Makes sense, sort of. |

6:46 PM - Maura's family members contact the University of Massachusetts Police Department and request that her dormitory room be checked
..........this was on Monday. I was wondering the other day how the UMASS people found out about Maura. Read more: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search... |

Judged: 2 2 1 REMEMBER ALL THIS? 12:20 AM - A male UMass student is found seriously injured at the intersection of Triangle and Mattoon Streets in Amherst. The injuries appear to be from either being hit or thrown from an automobile.[1] Though there were some theories that Maura may have been involved, it is very unlikely, as she was in the middle of a shift at a dormitory check in desk with UMass Student Security. 1:00 AM - Maura receives a phone call at work, becomes upset early in the morning and is escorted back to her dorm room by her supervisor. Judged: 1 partial truths. mis-information. intended inconsistencies. her background prior to her disappearance is carelessly misrepresented by anonymous team members over 7 years while crying foul (fowl) the entire time. is it any wonder that any 'agent' for MM's "family" or sub-ordinates would put forth conflicting info. today, as yesterday? |

I recall reading it myself but it was only in forums and other "hearsay" type places. |

Judged: 1 1 1 I haven't followed Maura's case for about 3 years now. I was reminded of her today while reading about a girl that disappeared from my hometown over 20 years ago ( her case also remains unsolved.) I googled Maura's case, and came upon the website briansdreams.com . Apparently the site owner is a "lucid dreamer" who works on missing persons cases and draws pictures of what he sees in his dreams. Yes, it sounds wacky, I've always taken these types and psychics with a grain of salt. He believes Maura was abducted by a man, possibly a police officer, who had an eagle on his jacket. His advice to the family was don't trust the police, get the FBI involved, the beforeones who are supposed to be looking for her actually know where she is. This was from 2006. Helena Murray did thank him for posting a link to Maura's site. Sorry, I know this isn't tangible proof of anything, it was a very quiet night tonight at work. His drawings of the alleged abductor are creepy, almost exactly what I pictured the boogeyman to look like when I was a kid. |

Judged: 3 3 2 Was it really said she got a nursing job? I may be wrong, but wasn´t it just said she got a job at a hospital in Ohio for the summer of 2004, and people just assumed it was a nursing job. Maybe she got a job mopping the floors at the hospital? |

"The River Gods" is a novel in fragments, a mix of fact and fiction, in which various inhabitants of the area around what is now Northampton, Massachusetts, from the eleventh century through the 1990s, speak of their lives and of the community, a place haunted by the pervasive melancholy of extinguished desire.
Each of the voices--including a character named Brian Kiteley and his family, the original Native American inhabitants, the actor Richard Burton, Sojourner Truth, Richard Nixon, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Jonathan Edwards, and many nameless others--ruminate on a past that is startlingly present and tangible. The main character, though, is the world of Northampton, irrevocably woven into the fabric of Western history, yet still grounded by the everyday concerns of health, money, food, love, and family. It is a novel of voices, the living and the dead, that illuminate the passage of time. ABOVE FROM: http://www.uapress.ua.edu/product/River-Gods,... |

Judged: 1 1 1 the beauty, character and history of western ma is so distinct from boston and suburban surrounds...almost unto itself. not sure i could fit in there, although there is plenty of space and land for very good living. after these online exchanges, i'd be very careful about where to live and who my neighbors would be in the country. busybodies thrive in tiny towns. |
