It does bring to mind author Rick Baker´s claims he knew for a fact the McStay family or parts of it were alive. He even paid some unknown party $25000 for proof of their whereabouts, but as we now know they were all located in desert graves.
I´d say the likelihood of Maura being alive is very, very slim. But IF she is, Canada is definately it. We don´t know the basis for Renner´s claims, so at this point we can´t really judge.

Correct. And don't forget the psychics that had "answers" in the McStay case also, just like the Maura case. I just took a look to see what they said about the McStay's. You want to laugh, read some of those wild ass guesses. Read some of the psychics "predictions" with the value of knowing where they went and how they wound up.

This new person, sounds like he moves around, was one of 10 in a tight ring through high school, Maura's ring....Now to the photo,~there she sat with him and my impression only is that she was trying to move away out of some kind of shyness. In another photo with this man she is wearing a RED sweater and the decorations at the table are ALSO Christmassy.

Christmas 2003? Moving along to the: Goshen party? Did this person go to that one too? Wasn't the party at the home of a high school friend, or the high school friends mother?

Hey, Sam, tomorrow I'm going to drive over to your mom's house. I'm going to tell her my hobby is looking into the Maura Murray case and that I have been reading your blog and have information that I want to share with you and only you, and I need your current address and phone. Do you think it would be wise or prudent to give that information to a complete stranger? Don't you think a reasonable person would be hesitant in providing you, a complete stranger, with any information at all? Wouldn't your mother not give out any information, instead choosing to contact you before giving any information out to this complete stranger?

Would anybody here give out the address, phone number or any other personal information about their relative or friend to a complete stranger?

Yet you find "the exchange odd" and "in light of the exchange, I, too, have concluded that he wants to stay off the grid." Really?!? Because she wouldn't tell you, a complete stranger, where her son currently lives?!?

So the witch hunt continues, now it's poor DW who is being hunted down mercilessly by Renner and his crew. This whole "dropping off the grid" thing is just ridiculous and intended to make DW sound suspicious, when, in fact, his name is plastered all over the Internet, with photographs. Do people who do not want to be found play in some of the highest profile poker games in the country for years on end?

Oh, and guess what? I have lots of friends and relatives who have never joined Facebook, or who join and quit, and I know almost nobody who has a Twitter account, and that includes a lot of young people. It's not because they don't want to be found, it's because they don't like social media. LOTS of people don't like social media. Does that make them people who are "dropping off the grid?"

This is sooooooo ridiculous, and once again, very damaging for the new huntee.

You are of course correct. I don't even give my real name to the few people on this forum, who I have liked in some cases for almost a decade. So yeah. Someone popping up on my doorstep asking questions about my relatives or friends, will get a very terse, obscenity laden response. At that point, it would be wise for them to beat a hasty retreat.

The feeling of entitlement that he possesses seems to be a trait of many of his generation. I can only assume that mommy and daddy didn't do a good job of explaining boundaries to him.

THAT IS A BLATANT LIE. He lied to DW's mother in order to make his mission sound more sympathetic. He didn't tell her the reason he and Renner are seeking information about her son is that they are trying to implicate him in Maura's disappearance.

Did you tell her you were an attorney too, Sam, to make you sound more credible?

You need to brush up on the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct:

"Rule 8.4 Misconduct

It is professional misconduct for a lawyer to:

...

(c) engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation"

The unethical behaviors of many of the Renner/Green band of "sleuths" is appalling and needs to stop.

When you put it this way it's a whole 'nother story. I was tap dancing around using any names, but I didn't realize what the bottom line was. I do not wish to be a part of something like that.

If Maura is living with Bob Hopes great grandson, leave that grandson out of it.

And how do I say this? I hope for a "living in this world" Maura. And if this were so, I would walk away not needing anything else. It's her business, it's her life and I struggle with this.

It's also just too sad to raise hopes on a whim.

They've just picked someone new to drag through the mud. In a few days they'll come full circle again and it will be Butch that was hiding something because he didn't park his bus just right or some neighborhood dirtbag that dragged Maura away to never be seen again.
