Coming here to find a neatly laid out sequence of events is obviously not going to happen. It's not what Topix is, never will be. The beauty is that every person has their say without restriction, which in reality gives you a broader point of view than you will get anywhere else. Renner's blog, Sam's blog, you get what they want you to get. Posts are moderated and can be removed if they don't want them there. It makes a nice neat narrative but it gives you a narrow perspective.
If you are honestly looking for as much info as you can get about Maura, information that will let you develop your own theory about what happened then you will be well served to start at the beginning of this thread and read it through. Yeah there is a lot of stuff unrelated directly to Maura, but the information that is in this thread you will find nowhere else. Most any idea about Maura's case has been discussed many times over in here. There are links to places that you have no idea exist with even more information. But it does not come easy. Think of it as panning for gold,(which is popular on the Wild Ammonoosuc river that runs along rt 112 coincidentally). You have to sort through a lot of pebbles and sand to find the nuggets.
If you want to be told a story then stick with Sam and James. If you want to think for yourself then stay here.
I would recommend two things however. 1) Don't insult the forum, it is what it is and claims to be nothing more and 2) If your interest here is only to find identities of posters (as you stated on Sam's blog), then please don't, it's creepy and most importantly, unnecessary..
Well said and I totally agree.

Wowzer, i hear you've been tasked with creating a Cliffs Notes version.
always beware the newbie. "reading" has never been "real time" in this endeavor, and stoopid conclusions are made and acted upon.
I've decided against the Cliff Notes version Snowy. That would make it way too easy and the readers would be missing out on all the spice and excitement.:)

Correct. Intent is subject to interpretation. In this case,I have concluded that the letter purports to be a factual account. Do you disagree? If so, on what basis?

i disagree for the reasons i just supplied above. having been present with others as the posts evolved, and understanding the context and emotional atmosphere between various groups, it was and is not a surprise that someone would make an outlandish or exaggerated statement for various or personal reasons. it is that subjective.

shall we look more closely at Beagle's statements about UMASS' killing MM or his explicit egg theories?

truly, your looking back will likely not reveal any discovery previously overlooked. a diagnosis was not confirmed; a second opinion will not support the malice you assign.

the geocities statement could be intended to be persuasive, or, in another context, as a retort to previous statements made about the whereabouts of MM.
Not when almost the exact same information is sent to the Attorney General of the State. Whoever it was was a very busy bee. The document was released with several hundred documents. Can't be sure of course, but that would seem to indicate that it was not a part of the investigation or it wouldn't have been released. Of course it was also posted on a Geocities page and miraculously showed up on Topix a few days later. Don't you remember Quija's analysis? Post 18662 which conveniently has disappeared...thread is still there, but starts at 21004....always wondered why she was protesting so much...and wasn't she good buds with Suzanne...ya, I think so.
http://www.topix.net/forum/city/franconia-nh/...

Just some things I noticed with that geocities post... The writing doesn't seem familiar to me.... Doesn't seem like anyone who posts here regularly....

Examples:

1. Maura is living a content and satisfying life in the Province of Quebec.

"Content" instead of "contented".
"Province of Quebec" instead of the way most of us just say "Quebec".

2 and 3. Maura's being asked to leave West Point and all the ensuing criticism by her father was the beginning of a certain line of thought for Maura, culminating...

Don't remember ever reading the phrase here "a certain line of thought"

"Maura's being asked" vs. "Maura having been asked"

4. Maura's relationship with William Rausch was near its end. According to Maura's sister Kathleen, they were having 'serious problems.'

No comma before "Kathleen"
Not the usual quotes around 'serious problems'.

5. On the night of February 5 2004 Maura took a break from her job at the security desk at a UMass dormitory to go and briefly get coffee and some food.

Odd word order... "to go and briefly get coffee..." instead of "to briefly go out and get..."

Odd that there's no comma after Feb. 5.....

6. Sometime between 12 MN and 1 AM Maura driving her Saturn struck and critically injured the UMass student Petrit Vasi leaving him for dead.

I have never seen anyone here use "MN" for midnight.

7. Between 2 and 3 AM on the morning of Sunday Feb 8 Maura had a second motor vehicle accident wrecking her father's new car.

No comma after "accident"

8. Fred Murray's new car was towed around 3 AM to his Hadley motel room. Maura arrived at Fred's motel at the same time as a passenger in the tow truck.

Leaving out a comma after after "same time" makes this sentence unclear.

9. Fred was not happy with Maura to put it mildly.

Weird there's no comma or dash after "Maura"

10. Fred Murray has a history of domestic violence.

This is interesting because it's something a neighbor, LE, a P.I., or family member would know about from when Fred lived there and this occurred.

11. She and her new boyfriend travelled in tandem to Route 112 in NH (He was already in Southern NH).

Poor grammar/punctuation in dealing with the material in the parentheses...

ANYway, this seems to have been posted by someone whose writing I'm not familiar with, someone who didn't go to college or wasn't in advanced classes in high school, someone who just quickly wrote this and didn't really care about getting it "right", or someone disguising his/her writing. Don't know what the heck that means...

you've collected some good detail.

but are you now casting your net over Quija? sorry, i don't remember the content of the post you mention, since deleted. i am aware that Quija tirelessly explored every detail and nuance of meaning across various posts; hers was a creative and intelligent view, although she sometimes injected some fictional supposition. Beagle focused a good deal of hatred toward her; i am unsure why.

by taking statements at face value, as Sam is doing, their veracities are not increased; variables make for more complexity.

i'm unsure why you need to analyze poor grammar / punctuation / usage / spelling.
as you say, monikers and writing style are not accurate identifiers.

Hmm, if you're so familiar with everyone's writing then you must be a regular too so why use different monikers or are you just a lurker?
Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a college education or to have been in an advanced high school class. Posters here are from all walks of life and have different educations and until your post I didn't realize that someone might feel superior to the other posters.
I can't imagine having enough time to pick over everyone's words and write down their mistakes in grammar and punctuation. Some people just have way too much time on their hands IMO.

Lurker, but the fact is you should go back and reread...ONCE AGAIN, I DIDN"T, QUIJA DID. And, FYI, I don't have a college education nor did I attend advanced high school classes.

Holy Crap! My punctuation is hit or miss and sometimes I spell as it sounds as my fingers type faster than my brain. And sometimes I even misspell a word or two!
If my words start to be analyzed I'll soon be sitting in the corner in my cheap seat wearing a dunce hat.

Sam,
I thought I should offer some observations I have made possibly involving your Quebec quest. Its possible you have knowledge of these things already but what if...A long time poster from this board has additional posts in A S.D topix forum..Additionally I believe the same poster discusses a case "near" and dear to him/her in a Topix Utica thread(A local Ma. Case). You did not provide links to the threads I speak of when you were tossing out links recently. Its clear who the person is which I wont divulge here.

I now have this entire thread (900+ pages). I wish to post it on the blog so that everyone can read it.

Any thoughts on an efficient way to do that? Uploading one page at a time would be quite time-consuming.
