She took what was important to her and left behind what might be important to other people. On top she left that email from Billy about how he slept with Julie's friend. She returned her scrubs. She cleaned out her trash. She did it on a Monday to give herself a decent head start on police, the college, and her father. She'd been thinking about it for at least 6 months and the crash on Sat. night was the last straw and her motivation. She was never coming back. And the fact that she was looking for two-room cabins and hotels, the missing 45 minutes, and her quick escape from the accident scene in NH, (and the londonderry ping) suggests she was meeting someone up there for the night. That is the person who picked her up from the side of the road.

it is only by speculation that one can weave a MM story and commit it to book form with a beginning, middle, and to
fashion a potential ending. otherwise, there are just too few facts. at least that's my launching point.

i am uncertain whether FM's input, even if he were cooperative, would move the needle toward resolution, or just far enough to stall. if he had the answers, she'd be found by now.

clearly, there are individuals in FM's circle who are privy to details that have been withheld from the public.
it's that simple.

Are you saying that you no longer believe Maura's father aided her?
Are you going to explain how you know as fact that she "was never coming back"? Or is that an assumption on your part?
Was she really looking at "two-room cabins"? I never read that. The only place I ever saw mentioned was the Salamone's condo. I don't think that was a cabin, was it?

Why not make it easier for family to take her things away? Would you prefer that she haul boxes to the dumpster,--in order to believe she was done with school? Like James said, maybe there were things people would want back, want to have, etc. Maybe she didn't want to be seen throwing things away outside. Maybe she was too tired or didn't want to work that hard. Maybe she wanted to leave a "piece" of her behind. Reminds me of the emails she sent. I think they were sent to buy time. It still doesn't tell us what happened in NH though.
