James Renner wrote: <quoted text> Yeah. Except she had already passed up a ride with a stranger. And the people who speak of disappearing in seconds did not do so in plain view of three witnesses who were watching the scene. Absurd. She didn't need a ride to a house across the street from the accident. She needed to get the hell out of the area. There were not three people "watching" the scene. There were three people obliquely involved in looking at the scene. As someone who knows what it takes to properly survey a scene. I assure you most, including yourself, probably especially yourself, hasn't any idea. That is why they respond with, "they just disappeared". Unless you really believe she really disappeared. They don't you know. They just weren't paying attention. Bill

Nothing new, Fred asked for FBI involvement again, Strelzin said it wasn't needed, they mentioned the credit card fraud, LE said while is was possible Maura was alive, it wasn't probable.
WMUR has put a lot of their Maura stories on YouTube, hopefully they will do the same with this one.

Fred aid he has no idea why she came up here and wants to know what the trooper did that night. I don't think there was anything said that we haven't already heard. A local woman said she doesn't think a local took her but that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even though I have mentioned it in the past and it was totally ignored I find it interesting that no one has mentioned that Rt 112 is a direct route from 91 to Loon Mountain. I could never understand why it wasn't possible that an out of stater heading to go skiing could have picked her up but the focus was always on a local did it. Oh well, hopefully someday the truth will be revealed .

Thanks Wowzer. The video is now up on YouTube. You can either go directly to the WMUR channel or search for "WMUR Maura Murray 10 Years Later." I transcribed all the interviews from the program - hopefully others will find this useful. Apologies in advance for any typos. *** Fred Murray: "It's like it's yesterday to me and it always will be, I guess, until I find out what exactly happened. In the blink of an eye - gone." Fred Murray: "My initial thought is still what I think and that's that somebody locally grabbed her, knows the area, knows where to go, how to get in someplace and out of someplace without being seen." Fred Murray: "I go up when there's something to look for, or when I have an idea or when I've heard something, or when there's somebody to talk to." Steve Loud, local resident: "There was no tracks or anything in the woods or anything like that in the snow, so she had to have stayed on the road." Jeanne Foley, local resident: "I never had that feeling that it was a local person, you know I always felt as though she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and somebody came along ..." Jeff Strelzin, AG's office: "Our office and the State Police do receive some information from people. Unfortunately, none of that has turned out to be fruitful. We haven't received any credible sightings of Maura since the night she disappeared." Fred Murray: "I don't know why she went. I don't know the combination of circumstances and events. I may never know. I probably won't." Fred Murray: "It's a road to Barlett where I'm sure she was going 'cause she knows it like her backyard,'cause we were in New Hampshire so much, at least four times a year. She was up there every year of her life." Fred Murray: "I've been asking for the FBI for ten years to enter the case. I'm still asking today, right now as I sit here, I'm asking for the FBI to enter the case. It's the only way this case will be solved." Jeff Strelzin, AG's office: "The case has been investigated by the Attorney General's office and the New Hampshire State Police. There hasn't been a need to bring in another agency full-time, although the FBI has lended assistance in the past." Jeanne Foley, local resident: "There was no one looking for her along the roadway during the daylight hours for several days. I never saw anyone come down this way, not ever." Fred Murray: "I want to know what happened in the first 36 hours. I want to know what their guy did, what the state police officer at the scene did." Fred Murray: "I think that if Maura were alive, she would have called me, and if not me, one of her sisters, or maybe one of her really good friends. I think she would have called me. I want to know what happened to my daughter. I want to know who did it. That's what I want."

Judged:

"The Attorney General's Office said not all adult missing persons cases are concerning, but given the circumstances, this one is very concerning, and that's why there has been an ongoing criminal investigation. They said that while it's possible that Maura Murray is still out there somewhere, it's not very likely." WMUR

From what i am reading here of JR's series and conclusions on this case his book is going to be a joke. and the more I read the worse it gets he wants there to be some big conspiracy that is what will make the book interesting. if the book is about some girl who was going away for a few days and got snatched by some psycho off the side of the road and nobody knows who that psycho is or if it even really happened then that isn't much of a book is it? how about if she wandered into the woods and succumbed to the elements? that's not much of a book either now is it? does anybody else think that its a coincidence that he has chosen the most drama filled theory available?

To me his greatest weakness in his book is going to be the investigation. I don't think he knows what he is doing. He has researched a lot of pieces but I don't think he knows what he is looking at. Him thinking that people disappear when they are being watched is a prime example. He has never actually watched someone or something so he has no idea. To him that points in directions that do not logically follow. Biggest reason that people appear to disappear to those "watching". It is because they don't have eyes on the target when it does whatever it did. To Renner it is a mystery. To Renner it points in bizarre directions. The ability to leave ones view takes seconds. Half the book is likely going to be fiction based upon what he thinks he has proven, and hasn't. Probably make a great screenplay though. Bill

Bill even my dog will routinely disappear in seemingly seconds and in one of many directions, unless my eyes and my very presence is focused on her. if i turn my back, the challenge becomes knowing which diection she's set out on.

And another layer to the problem. Many people "watching" assume normal methods of egress such as roads. So what happens with these "watchers"? They look up and the person is not there anymore. What do they do? They look up the road and down the road, with a quick head look. What if that isn't the route the person took? They just disappeared. Guess what, some people don't use the road to escape. Sometimes their plan, if they have one, doesn't have a logical end. People who panic, and I do think to a large degree Maura was panicked at this stage. Have very short term goals, such as getting away. To where doesn't matter. How to get there isn't important. They just don't want to be caught there. Like you said though. Taking your eyes off of them for a few seconds and they "disappear". I have mentioned before, watch how fast a jogger can "disappear" down a road. Typically it takes seconds. And of course I am using the imperial "you". You know this, I am talking to those that don't.
