ok I got trashed asking about airbags. None responded but with peanuts and spam lol if someone was in the passenger seat the airbags should have deployed.hence someone else was in the car. I was simply asking if anyone had the info. it was stated that two bags were deployed.

I found that about the 1996 Saturn SL1 sedan... I dunno if that was Maura's model, but the pic is very close. It was definitely a 4-door car: http://mauramurray.blogspot.com/2011/07/maura...

It says dual airbag but I am unclear if that means dual as in one on each side... Or if it means two on the driver's side.

thanks to a highly developed radar for BS that i've honed right here on topix, this entry to renner's blog doesn't quite pass the smell test. believe me, the writing suggests it is concocted to tell a story....perhaps to mislead. hey, i could be wrong. imagine that!??

"This probably doesnt mean anything, I don't know. I was always terrified to post on websleuths, topix, or the MM forum because everyone who doesn't agree with the official party line gets attacked.
Anyway, I have always been kind of weirdo and looked at the Doe Network, then the Charley Project, etc. In 2007 I worked as a bank teller at a "chain" bank that has branches in NY, PA, and New England. It would get pretty boring sometimes, and I am nosy, so during lulls I would go through the database and search for people I knew, famous people, random missing people, etc. One time I searched "Maura Murray". As of the end of 2006/early 2007, there was a Maura Murray, born May 4, 1982 with an active account opened in New Hampshire. If I recall correctly, it was attached to a car loan, and the account was active in that it was collecting payments. I remember the information looked pretty familiar, so I wrote it down and checked it against the Charley Project profile when I got home. I was always afraid to say anything, maybe it is a coincidence and I'll look stupid, and at the time I didn't want to get in trouble at my job. I saw this blog and figured what the hell.
thanks and best of luck
id prefer to remain somewhat anonymous"

a teller function is very limited; a head teller would have access to account histories, and addt'l info would be available to customer serv and loan officers, or so has been my direct experience with my previous employer at branch offices of a larger new england bank. for all i know, there may be differences between banks of different sizes and locations.
Maybe Renner's source was a head teller? It's not totally improbable to me that this particular nugget is a bad clue.

I'm a Renner believer though. I fully admit to hanging on for his every update... It's because there's been nothing new and researched independently for soooo long, and so much misinformation originally. When you recognize someone on a missing poster that you've seen almost every day for who even knows how long... We weren't friends, but I really want to FIND Maura.

Suspicion is a virtue. But I doubt Renner would post something that doesn't at least *somewhat* check out.

If nothing else, look at it this way. If he BSes us, he won't sell any books.

Kitten, I guess what I am asking is does anyone know if both the driver and passenger airbags were deployed? It was stated that two airbags were deployed but that doesn't mean they were one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. my understanding is in order for an airbag to deploy there must be a certain weight sitting in the seat.

i hope you don't think i'm suggesting renner created the "teller" post to his blog. i believe he suggests the writer's name is unverified.
i've seen, for too many years, anonymous posters introducing similar posts, right here on Topix, who provide TMI and use emotional language to plant a certain idea relative to MM's disappearance. it's my radar, not yours, and you don't need to pay heed.
again, i'm not suggesting renner, for any reason, is misleading anyone.

Nothing of the sort.:) I figured you were suggesting he was keeping the source's name private-- as a journalist it's his first amendment right. I'm so refreshed that the contributors here are so open to the new research.

All media articles I have found mentions both front airbags, drivers and passengers, in Mauras car being deployed. The below info doesn´t specify conditions for passenger side airbag deployment in Maura´s car model, but gives a clue to when it generally does:

"Federal regulations do not specify a specific weight at which passenger-side airbags must be turned on or off. Instead, automakers must meet a performance standard that in a frontal collision the airbag protects a crash dummy that represents a “5th percentile female” and weighs about 108 pounds. Passenger-side airbags should be turned on when seat sensors detect an occupant of this weight or greater, but that doesn’t mean they will always be off if someone lighter is seated.

All airbag systems are not the same, so when the passenger-side airbag is turned on can vary by manufacturer and the readings from seat sensors that measure not only the weight but the stature and seating position of the occupant and other factors. For example, on some GM vehicles, an electronic field measures the amount of water in the occupant to help determine the occupant’s size and weight. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says an adult who is not centered and seated upright or is leaning heavily on an armrest can take pressure off the seat cushion and mislead the seat sensors."

And I'm serious, I think there is a possibility Maura is alive and well, and that police are feigning an investigation to cover up for her. It's her Constitutional right to remain hidden, so why not? It would certainly explain why the official investigation has moved so slowly.
Is is absolutely positively impossible. Trust me on just this one thing, nobody is covering for her, the idea of it is ridiculous.

The investigation is moving slowly because they are missing a very key piece of evidence, namely Maura Murray. Until her body is found it needs to remain a criminal investigation, at which point it will likely be a found missing person/suicide.

No one said she wasn't missing. That's the point of this forum, yes? I said it's possible she's alive. Lots of people think so. You're welcome to disagree. Not everything that is posted as a postulation needs to be taken literally, Citigirl. Some of us enjoy subtlety and critical thought.

I think I am done here, if anyone would like to join me elsewhere you know where to find me.:)

Thank you hanna for your post it was helpful. I have been searching high and low. Do you know exactly where you may have seen both the drivers side and passenger side were deployed?I know I have seen that two bags were deployed but this car might have had the side bags also so the drivers steering wheel and side bag. If the passenger side went off she might have had a passenger of something heavy on the seat.

I'm sorry, I don't think I was clear before. What I meant there was, it IS illegal/it DOES violate Maura's rights to reveal her location if she wants not to be found. It is NOT illegal/a breach of privacy to provide general information about a bank account in someone's name.(That's what my letters to landlords at work do-- verify that the person is employed and liquid enough financially to have a bank account. It's like I'm speaking for the person and saying, Sure Mister Landlord, Jane Doe will pay her rent!)
I suppose you could make the argument that by revealing the location of the account, Mr. Renner's source violated Maura's rights. But that's only IF she's alive.
one more time. a <bank>teller is a <bank> teller with a well-defined and limited role / function.
from the customer side, and in general, bank accounts are privileged and protected; only the principal and signers to an account are granted legal access.
creditors and others, perhaps like you, may access a database to verify certain account information, but that person is not typically a "teller". could you be the person that researched and supplied this info to renner?
further, it is always improper and a violation of privacy to carry forward information gleaned from one's employer to the public view. it is, certainly, cause for termination.
this anonymous poster, should have brought such information first to the police if it was legitimately sourced and validated.
i remain entirely suspicious about the credibility of the poster, and therefore, the information revealed about the account.

The only info I ever provided to Renner was how Maura liked her coffee. We went to college together and she frequented the coffee shop I worked at. I'm an office manager, not a banker. Everything I've said here leads back to my identity, so I'm not embellishing or exaggerating. Snowy, you seem very paranoid. Hope everything's okay.

intelligent and logical, not paranoid. not interested in your identity, but in reading about information that can be affirmed to be valid, verifiable and factually accurate. a lesser standard is not useful as it falls to hearsay; rumor.
