so you are saying that Maura who went camping with two other sisters and her father stayed in a car? you really need to read before you post. That is just plain stupid logic on your part.
"I always thought it was strange that Fred would take the girls up there on their own. They would be 14, 15, 16 years old, camping together. If my Dad had ever asked me to go camping with him I'd have said,'what are you, nuts?'"
Ok. Throw the nuts and mean faces at me but I have to ask. Are you serious or are you just pretending to be dumb?

But seriously, I wish topix had straight jackets and muzzles to judge you,Bill and snowy with. Snowy is getting ready to chirp in any moment. Big doses of Bill then comes Wowzer (who lives in Haverhill and not unknown) and then sweet snowy.

Yeah, Bill. I think that you were involved in the search for her. Let's hope your attitude of "she's likely drunk" and ran off somewhere did not decrease your motivation to look for her. I can almost hear you, "Oh, just another drunk who ran off, we get hundreds of 'em!" Had she wanted to accept a ride or help from anyone, she would have accepted the SBD's offer of assistance. In fact, if your they "just run off, happens all the time" perspective has any basis, why did she not run off when she saw the school bus approaching? No way. I believe Maura had been involved in survival training of some type and she was a hiker. She would NOT have tromped off into snowy, wooded area clad only in street clothes in 12-degree temperature, wandering around in the dark.
I would agree with this statement except, I don't believe Maura was thinking rationally, first she had been drinking, second she was obviously under some emotional distress, third there's a remote chance her head may have impacted the windshield causing a slow brain bleed.
I do feel Maura left the scene intentionally, she didn't want LE notified because she had been drinking, ANY open container of alcohol let alone consumption is illegal in N.H. Maura also days earlier wrecked her fathers car after leaving a party and consuming alcohol, she may not have wanted to face the music in the second accident.
Having worked college security I can tell you alcohol is a BIG part of college life and leaving the scene of a DUI accident isn't uncommon if LE doesn't arrive ASAP. I think she just flat out panicked and being lightly dressed and exerting herself along with alcohol consumption she got hypothermia and with hypothermia come's increasing delusional thought process. Many have died from hypothermia and it creeps up on people and if not recognized can quickly become life threatening. Also even if Maura did recognize it she may have put herself in a position of no way to help herself due to the remote location and lack of clothing and shelter.
There are people who under stress, fatigue or impaired over react. Maura may have been under all three, younger people seem to fall victim to this more than seasoned citizens, problems are blown way out of proportion. Maura already let her dad down with the first accident, perhaps she felt she had no purpose to go on after accident number two. We have no idea how Fred reacted with her when she wrecked his car.

That red truck. The "red truck" piece always seemed as though it had been simply added to the mix to create additional confusion. A diversion technique to move everyone from the rogue LE officer theory and Bill's UFO theory? The "red truck" piece was also more compatible with the highly pushed and popular runaway theory. Wonder how many people in that area owned red trucks. Blue trucks, too. They're both popular colors.
I totally agree, the red truck thing seems like a red herring. There may have been a red truck, but I think at times when an event like Maura's happens, people see things in a exaggerated light letting their imagination control the facts.

It really bugs the crap out of you to see hidden under some posters names. Some people want their address kept private so nuts like you don't show up at their door. Oh btw,I don't live in Haverhill. Keep digging but keep in mind I'm very well protected.

I do like Boston Cream donuts although I try to eat one only once in awhile. Now I LOVE coffee.
But for evenings of entertainment in front of the computer my preference is popcorn and Pepsi.
COFFEE!! Green Mountain caramel vanilla creme,1 sugar and a little Hoods light creme. I need at least two cups every morning just to attain a pulse.

Wowzer,
Canīt help wondering why you need to be so very well protected.
From whom, may I ask?
Are you that unpopular in your community?

You really need to look up the definition of "camping". That is called "car camping". Just because you sleep in a tent, it doesn't mean you were really camping.
I used that as a reference to what they do in Beast training. I actually have much more training than that. And no, I haven't done it all, but I have done enough to be useful in these types of activities. I continue to learn though. I like learning. What do you like?
Bill
Survival training, even if she had been to Fairchild AFB survival school ( possibly one of the best in the country if not the best ) she still needed the will to survive as well as a clear mind. Survival skills are useless without the proper mindset which I don't think she had at that time. Most basic training survival skills are just that basic and most people don't even have that much knowledge. I still feel as I have said many times, her biggest enemy wasn't man, but the elements compounded by alcohol, emotions, and exertion if that was her the contractor saw.

Do you want your address put on a public forum for millions of strangers to see?
I think it's only common sense not to advertise where you live on the internet. And no, I'm not unpopular in my community. At least none of my friends have told me I was unpopular. I think they would have mentioned it so I could mend my ways and become Miss Popularity.
PS. Most that live in the country have some sort of protection. You just never know if you'll run into a rampaging moose or something.:)

What if Maura did indeed get into a car - willingly or not - on Rte 112 close to the location of her wrecked car.
After a while she might have realized that she had got herself into a very dangerous situation.
Did she perhaps somehow manage to get out of the car and was she possibly the person running as supposedly witnessed by the construction worker RF some 5-6 miles east of the Weathered Barn curve in the vicinity of the Rte 112/Rte 116 intersections?
The supposed find of hairs and duct-tape in pretty much the same general area by a hunting previous poster on this forum (Matthew, IIRC) paints a potentially disquieting picture.

Seriously? Are you that thick? Car camping is what people do at campgrounds. They may use a tent to sleep in, or they may sleep in a camper. Either way, it's not really camping. Camping requires that you are carrying everything you spend the night out in the woods with on your back, and in your head. And say maybe more than 50 feet from a piece of asphalt. Its kind of like the difference between a real detective and a sleuth on the internet.

you are very paronoid Bill because listing the state you live in or even town will not give away your address. only you and Wowzer go to the lengths to hide where you are from but I am sure you will correct me and go searching. Have fun Bill.

My definition of car camping would be sleeping in the back of a car and yes there is such a thing. RV camping sleep in RV, Tenting sleeping in a tent. who cares camping is campingyou originally said that You didn't know if Maura Camped. Am I right? Answer is yes she did.

Mathew said he was 7 miles from the crash site where he found the duct tape. I ran the milage on it and 7 miles was just shy of the Campground down there on the left yea camping again lol
