NHwoodsman52 wrote: <quoted text> Survival training, even if she had been to Fairchild AFB survival school ( possibly one of the best in the country if not the best ) she still needed the will to survive as well as a clear mind. Survival skills are useless without the proper mindset which I don't think she had at that time. Most basic training survival skills are just that basic and most people don't even have that much knowledge. I still feel as I have said many times, her biggest enemy wasn't man, but the elements compounded by alcohol, emotions, and exertion if that was her the contractor saw. You are correct,(you didn't need me to tell you that) but it needs to be repeated. If the contractor did see her that far away. She would have undoubtedly been tired and even more important she would have been very sweaty meaning wet. Once the adrenalin wore off she would have had serious issues keeping herself from becoming hypothermic. Alcohol also causes serious issues with hypothermia. There is and always has been a very strong possibility that she succumbed to the elements. Bill

jwb wrote: <quoted text> My definition of car camping would be sleeping in the back of a car and yes there is such a thing. RV camping sleep in RV, Tenting sleeping in a tent. who cares camping is campingyou originally said that You didn't know if Maura Camped. Am I right? Answer is yes she did. You are actually not too bright. No, she has never camped, if she did it in the manner you speak. No one who has actually camped, considers that camping. And sleeping in cars is called, sleeping in cars. So bottom line, Maura has never spent one night really camping. And even more important, may not be familiar with how to behave in the woods, while alone, or at night, or when it's near freezing, or when she has exhausted herself and found herself soaked. And particularly when she is ill equipped, and under supplied. Don't know about you, but to me, it sounds like a recipe for disaster. Bill

A diversion technique to move everyone from the rogue LE officer theory and Bill's UFO theory? The "red truck" piece was also more compatible with the highly pushed and popular runaway theory. Wonder how many people in that area owned red trucks. Blue trucks, too. They're both popular colors. thd ruck was seen by RO at the Swiftwater Station/The Stage Stop (not sure what the name was in 2004). It had out of state plates--she believes Massachusetts. The lighting in the entranceway to that parking lot is good---one wouldn't confuse red with blue or black there. It slowed down checked her out and took off--like the driver was looking for someone. A resident on Bradley Hill Rd reported seeing a Red pick up truck parked on the side of the road the same evening. Do your research. Oh, by the way, LE was pulling over red pick up trucks that night in the area as well.

The call would have been to confirm meeting time and place. Maura, enroute to their agreed upon meeting place, met with foul play and never arrived at her destination. The "mystery" person may have waited for her at their mutually agreed upon destination, but did not come forward for the same reason Maura never disclosed to family and friends where she was going Feb. 9, 2004. Was that landline she called or a cell phone? It could have been a cell for someone from Wakefield going to UMass with her

Here is definition from Wikipedia on camping Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. The participants (known as campers) leave urban areas, their home region, or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or several nights outdoors, usually at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, caravan, motorhome, cabin, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all. In many parts of the world[where?],'camping' refers exclusively to the use of tents or similar portable structures[citation needed].

How can you possibly say what Fred Murray has or hasn't heard about? the man states that he travels to the area all the time and searches the area---I have NEVER seen him there, and I am in the area all the time on foot, on ATV and on snowmobile. As I recall reading somewhere earlier, the dogs at the A frame only sense blood from death.they would not alert to menstrual blood.Am i remembering that right?Where are the rug samples?Same place as the knife?

What leads some of them to believe this? i think people consider the rogue LE because of the 2 hr time lapse.I myself have spent alot of time digging&have found instances of what i consider rogue actions in the white Mtns area..maybe its the remoteness&small town power.Dig deep, you'll find it.

From the reports of the Mountain Lakes meetings, the couple always acted a little odd, never kept up their property, were in and out of jobs. I never met them but did look at the house in May of 2004 when it was available for purchase. There was carpetting in all closets and none of it was blood stained.

And I wonder why Fred wouldn't call the police when he was contacted but rather he went to get the knife from the guy---contaminating possible evidence.
