this is certainly new and VERY disturbing.. if it was my sister that they KNEW was there but didn't see her....that is a major loop hole........ or i would say a red flag at minimum. the car wasn't opened until the next day I thought....... so how would they know it was maura murray ?????????? no wonder fred goes off like a cannon ..when you think about it... that changes everything on how you view this case. everything..

Obviously the family addressed that issue.. but I doubt will get an answer of what they said because it is a "us vs them" situation from day 1. or even minute 1.

Are you saying Maura herself told the responding officer her name or even show her DL? Or was some of her belongings found on the ground by her car? As CS asked the Westmans where is the girl I assume she had taken off/vanished after showing her DL? I know the issue has been brought up before but was never satisfactorily answered. I donīt think we have ever gotten the time line quite sorted out either. Why did Faith Westman wait until 7:27 before she reported the accident if it happened just past 7:00. Maybe there really were two incidents as previously discussed.

Fred was not contacted until the next day......... he has three daughters......... how in the hell would they know it was her FOR SURE. Around and around and around we go and we're back again full circle for about the 6th time putting the police and the people nearby under suspicion. Sigh~~~

K-9 handler, Please, correct me if Iīm wrong, but I have always understood that HPD officer Cecil Smith asked the Westmans "Where is the girl?" some time after having arrived at the Saturnīs resting place. Are you now saying that Smith only spoke with the school bus driver Mr Atwood AFTER he spoke with the Westmans? I have previously been under the impression that officer Smith knew about "the girl" because of his earlier conversation with Mr Atwood. If that is, in fact, NOT the case, then how on earth could officer Smith know about "the girl" in the first place, before actually having spoken with the school bus driver?

I will add... to wowzers point........ why on earth wasn't this brought up everythime someone would go in a different direction. I would think this would be the heat of the investigation wanting to know.. how did they know about the girl - down to who she was and what she was wearing. hmmmmm... so I don't know. I don't think this means the police did anything wrong. she is an adult and could have asked not give her info. if you read on project jason you will find cases like that as well.... and the police cant say a thing to the family.. its sad.. its under located and recovered.

It's common the put an early BOLO out so the fire dept and ems can be looking . It wasn't until later when they got into the car and found evidence as to the drivers name etc. It was also Butch I believe that told the police it was a young women and she was alone in the car. This info was in the police report.

THE BOL was just for

I agree.......... who knows.. maybe got a break and let her go - well let you go but stay off the road.. ok. you could hurt someone.. then a second one.. actually her 3rd... she is really freaked out now.. they knew she was drinking.. thought for sure they would find her.. SPECULATION or thinking out loud here.. so dont beat me up :-)

Couldnīt the name and DL number have been added to the report at the time it was being typed and there was just blanks on the handwritten original? I know they sometimes do this. As for CS asking the Westmans where is the girl, he would have picked up that info over the radio?

I did fumble on the gloves.....One pair were Mauras that she had recieved as a present, but she really didn't wear them. The other pair were larger most likely mens leather gloves.
The ones used for the scent dog were Maura's though.
Sorry
