Judged: 1 1 Thanks for that link. The last page of that thread was very interesting. It's all been said before. You all think Snowy, WTF, and Wowzer are difficult on people when you run the NH locals names through the mud, try saying something about FM or MM in MA and you will see some real tempers flare, a lot of defensiveness, enough to get a very lengthy and years long topix thread shut down. Something very strange about that when it happened. It's silly to think that her life in MA had nothing at all to do with her disappearance. She obviously wanted to get away, or it was made to look like she wanted to get away. This accident and disappearing has always seem staged to me. Maybe it was staged to throw investigators off a murder, and maybe it was staged to help her to get away from MA. Don't think she would make it so far in those woods as to disappear in them unless she fell into a well or something. Dogs lost the scent at 100 yards from the crash in the middle of the road. Could the car have been delivered and that's why it was in neutral? Splash some wine around in the car. Throw can underneath car. Get things from the trunk. Rag in tailpipe like Advocator said. Get in truck. Outta here. We have no idea who was there. Conflicting accounts, a flurry of activity, then poof, gone. Why hasn't anyone seen the ATM video of her withdrawing money? In other cases such as these those videos are made public. The Disappeared show mentioned that no one was in the video with her. Why not release it then? |

Patterson graduated UNC and BC Law. Maybe Maura's family can get these guys to investigate. I bet Jim and Bo could get answers pretty fast. Patterson was formerly assigned to JIATF-S.

Beagle, You´re absolutely right, of course. I should have included the Amherst,MA, angle in this context. It is, after all, the last location where Maura was seen with absolute certainty. |

In one of his/her posts earlier tonight Aftermath asserted that he/she had seen a reference by some PI(s) that Maura´s Saturn had suffered a flat tyre when found at the WB curve on Rte 112.
Could this assertion be substantiated? Many thanks! |
I'd rather be in Helsingborg.

Why would they cancel a planned search where the sighting occured? I know they searched that area after hearing about the sighting because I saw the search with my own eyes. |

Beagle,
Are you saying that the “Pharmaceutical Mafia” discover Maura is going to spill the beans on something she’s come across at UMass or with some sort of unorthodox clinical trial? She decides to get out of Amherst to NH to mull everything over. They put a tracer on her car and/or sabotage her car and snatch her. High-tech, paid hit-men… that would explain the tight timeframe at the accident scene... I’m sure it wouldn’t have been the first time this has happened. The movies “Silkwood”,“The Constant Gardener” and “Michael Clayton” come to mind here… time for a re-watch to fuel the over-active imagination accompanied by a wee Christmas dram of course! |
Don't forget Erin Brocovich. |

Judged: 2 2 2 you are wrong, of course. it is whiston who, from day one, begged info about her life before her disappearance. numerous others actively delved into her background, while i vigorously defended her privacy, and her family's privacy. bet you didn't see that, did you? as time went on, and ducks attacked others in the name of MM, all the while distorting, hiding and excusing truths about her background, then suspicions about her activities and relationships prior to her disappearance substantially increased again, you don't know her, right? you haven't met her, right? and if you haven't, you can't speak truthfully and accurately to the characteristics you have assigned to her.. |

Judged: 2 I hope Chief Byron Charles is an improvement over Williams. What a disgrace! There are certainly some good cops, but too many of them are morally worthless. |

Frostman,
Where's the big reward money? I thought you were going to tap Kringle. |

Beagle,
If that's a "yes" to the question then the entire matter needs to be taken to an entirely different playing field in order to get results. If this is purely for entertainment value then it's a different story. |
Judged: 1 1 1 Beagle, ...and additionally, Vermont's winter carnival was scheduled that week. Also, various conferences were being held in Burlington. Waiting so late to search for accommodations might have meant the plan to take a trip might have come up within a day or two. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Beagle, Moral corruption is rampant globally. It's everywhere. Unfortunately, it's often more financially lucrative over hard work and moral ideology. Corruption exists in government, private sector, everywhere. Many people do not enter their career hoping to be morally corrupt. Some do. For some it evolves over time. Fortunately, there are many individuals who set high standards for themselves, LE included. |

Judged: 2 2 2 Snowy, With people like you involved in searching for Maura, thank goodness that Maura DOES have her family and friends rooting for her. You, my dear, as much as you dislike the thought, are the opposite extreme of Maura who was so very sensitive, gifted and intelligent. |

Judged: 2 2 2 "so, the "not stupid", "intelligent" "familiar with the outdoors" young woman who "valued her life" is the same one who ran away from college in February, sans appropriate winter clothing, and lied to excuse herself from her academic obligations." Snowy, Evidence does exist that Maura was intelligent. There is every reason to believe that she did value her life and that she was knowledgeable about the outdoors. There is absolutely NO evidence to support the idea that she "ran away" from college. True, she did leave Amherst and drove her car north into New Hampshire. This in no way indicates she "ran away." Had she run away from the university, she would not have bothered to provide supervisors and faculty with information that would result in an excused absence. By all indications it appears her goal was to provide a valid excuse, one which would allow her to have a few days away from campus for whatever reason without question. A death in the family would be the type of excuse which would be accepted without question. Had she said she was ill, people might have been knocking on her door. She evidentally wanted to be left alone for a few days or she would have informed someone where she was going, her plans. When you do not tell anyone where you are going, it is often because you do not want them to know. |
|
Judged: 2 2 2 Agreed...people DO engage in questionable behavior at times. However, it is insane to believe that a young female would trot off into the woods in February after dark! What nonsense. If it meant serving several years in prison, someone might attempt to avoid LE, but only a fool would risk his/her life to avoid spending a few thousand dollars on legal costs of a DUI/DWI if found to be intoxicated. Maura was not a fool. She would have chosen the highway. On previous occasions she did not run off when she had an accident. She remained at the scene of both accidents. |
