Why is it you choose not to comment? Beagle has thrown out more fantasies than anyone on this site and he has more Monikers than Glosta has Fishing Boats. Is it because he supports your cause?
Snowy, interested in your response to renners last post and your answer to the question of what category topix of poster you feel you fall into.
Beagle is Beagle. he knows how i feel about his theories; Beagle and i disagree; we've been there, done that. it's not personal....none of it is personal, jwb. just thoughts and opinions. yours, his, mine...and none of them really count until a legitimate clue comes forward.
i've read Renner's post twice...and need to read it again. as i said, i think Scarinza has as many questions as we do....and he is prone to speculation, as well! i hope Renner stays true to uncovering facts from his investigation, and doesn't fall back to the likes of some of our conversations here.
i'm just me...your personal PIA. no category. authentic. what you see is what you get.
my thinking is often in line with WTH and Wowzer, as i've made clearly evident. you know...show me the facts and the logic. no fantasy for me.
i am especially disinclined to believe women are generally unsafe and are targets of serial killers. it happens, of course, but we most often live our lives being at risk for all manner of unfortunate accidents, illness and risk of violence....but we must accept that along with the risk of being alive.
so, no ill will...just driving a steady course and hoping for a breakthrough someday.

I think it is highly possible- female alone at night maybe freezing cold and ready to accept a ride? not far fetched.
Wowzer tells us there are 5 houses in the immediate vicinity of where MM's car was found abandoned. our parents tell us not to accept rides from strangers from the time we are little....it is not at all clear that she accepted a ride. or if she did, that harm came to her.
freezing cold? her father or a garage may know if the heater was working in her car....otherwise, she had warmth along the way.
a car without a functioning heater and/or fan is pretty impossible to drive in cold weather. your breath freezes on the interior windows and obstructs your view. just a thought.

Agreed, if she had in fact been acting rationally. However she clearly was not acting rational, she was acting irrational and erratic, was she not?
It begs the question, if she declined an offer of help from SBD, who one would assume presented some sense of safety as he was driving a huge yellow school bus, why would she then accept a ride from someone else a very short time later?
Highly possible? How do you account for her highly erratic behavior declining help from Butch?
One thing is clear here, above everything else I can state that the one thing we can all agree on is that maura Murray was acting irrational and erratic. Why then do you continue to make assumptions of what a reasonable person would do when she was acting unreasonably?
FrmLE,

I believe it highly likely that Maura could have got into a passing vehicle provided she actually knew the person driving that vehicle. One reason why she declined Mr Atwood´s offer of help might be that she was expecting someone known to her to come along in a vehicle at any moment.

My guess is she didn't want police (Ba) called because she had been drinking. I believe however if she was 5=7 miles down the road and she was cold and thought that if she excepted a ride that would not tip anyone off about her being involved in an accident. If Butch called the cops and they came, game over. just a possibility

Th reason I was interested in what Bill and snowy thought about what scarzienza stated is because Bill ,snowy and wowzer get real nasty to posters when they bring up another thought of what happened to Maura. When you bring up the idea that she may have been picked up by another vehicle they call it fantasy in that there are no facts that say anything other than her walking away.
Scarzienza has more facts than any of us and he stated he feels she may have been picked up.
I am open to all senarios but please refrain from being vicious when someone else sees things differently .
yes, i was surprised by Scarinza's statement to that effect. very surprised...because he didn't back it up with any additional, conclusive information to support it.
we've each offered an explanation about the complex history of this forum, and the complicated interrelationships where certain theories and speculation are predictably farfetched, and falling outside of reasonably logical parameters, given information known about her and her disappearance. i'd call it firm, and sometimes exasperated, not nasty.

Renner writes: "On the night of Thursday, Feb 5, Vasi was at a bar in Amherst, at the corner of Triangle and Mattoon."

There is no bar at the corner of Triangle and Mattoon.

There 3 bars near the intersection of Triangle St. and N. Pleasant St.- The Spoke, Charlie's, and The Pub.

Renner writes: "But, it's too improbable for it to have been Maura [who hit Vasi]... It was a long walk to her car and the accident happened in the city, a drive from the university. No way she made it there and back without anyone noticing."

Totally untrue. By car from SW, it's maybe a 10 minute round trip at most, depending on the traffic light at Triangle and N. Pleasant. I've driven it and timed it. If the Saturn was parked at Lot 12, then it would have been much quicker to have walked the distance - maybe 20 minutes round trip. Renner makes it sound like Maura would have had to travel from the plains of Nebraska to downtown Amherst, which, BTW, is not a city.

The Saturn may have been parked at SW and used by someone else, or it may have been parked a few blocks away at a private residence located roughly between SW and the bars.

It was above zero that day -- 35.6 degrees F In SJB, VT. Close, same elevation.

Locals may remember what the temperature was like...?

Renner writes: "No way she made it there and back [from SW to Triangle and Mattoon] without anyone noticing."

Not necessarily true.

Also, someone may have borrowed the Saturn while Maura remained at her desk, someone in a position to have convincingly told police that Maura was absent from her desk at the time Vasi was hit; thus, by threat, preventing Maura from telling police about the dent in her car.

Warmest New England winter on record, IIRC. Previous winter was coldest.

Specifically what statements from Scarinza are you wound up about? What did he say that was so sensational?
I have highlighted them twice to Bill see previous posts. Never said sensational just asked for his opinion on a statement.

JWB....

The rest area her car was found at is the I-91 Northbound Hartford VT. one. This is the biggest area of bodies found and believed to be the dumping grounds for The CT. River Valley Killer.

I stop at the Rest area just before Bradford....7 to 10 miles I think.

issues surrounding the acting out behaviors associated with leaving WP (if those are positively true),
if not true this would mean that Whiston is a barefaced liar. I have often wondered about this. Why would Whiston make up a story like this? Also ouija supported Whiston in the telling of the credit card theft from cadets story.

That call would have been from Chief Williams possibly nursing a bad hangover?
