If I read mscmom´s post correctly this was confirmed by Mrs M-n at the Stage Stop Store.
Apparently some man in NY state cared enough about Maura´s fate to be doing some sleuthing on his own in Swiftwater.
Some kind of West Point connection?

When I first saw that site, my eyes immediately went to that person... I thought for sure it was Maura. The build, the size, the positioning of the bun on her head (she wore the bun on top of her head, not lower on back of head). The young woman in the picture looked like Maura did in the picture where she is running. That ad/photo, combined with the knowledge that "Maura Murray" was the name of the manager of that fitness center in Toronto, did make me wonder as to whether it might have been Maura. Even though I believe someone abducted Maura and foul play was involved, that photo on that fitness center site, continues to make me question if that could have possibly been Maura in Toronto. It would be wonderful if she were alive and well in Toronto.

He's not Greek. He lived near WP and moved to MA around or at same time Maura did. I believe he had previously lived in MA. I know that women usually tell at least one close friend or relative about an affair, etc....but it would seem this guy may have convinced her to keep quiet. Aware of his situation, she would have known the importance of not talking about this relationship with anyone. He had a lot to lose and Maura would have been fully aware of this. I'm going by dates, events, etc. that are too numerous to be coincidental. It's doubtful he had anything to do with her disappearance. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. He must have been devastated when she disappeared. I think the two had a plan to spend some time together outside of MA and when she had trouble finding a place to stay in VT, she had phoned about the condo, maybe to see if it would be available for a few days. Maura knew of a lot of places in Bartlett and felt comfortable because she knew the area. They'd decided to find a place to stay in that area rather than go to VT. I think she'd known him prior to WP, but I'm not sure about this. She did know him those years while she was at WP. They had a lot in common and it seems they shared a certain comfort level in terms of their relationship. It was not some wild affair. The secrecy and possible insight that the relationship held no future, I suspect was beginning to create some stress on the relationship. The Valentine's weekend was coming up and possibly this was why the decision was made to travel together to NH. It may have been a compensation of sorts for the loneliness involved in the relationship where they were not often together.
