It, to my knowledge, hadn't been validated that hair and duct tape weren't found.
I asked.
He answered.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
So after all this you really have no idea if a Mathew even existed or if any tape or hair were ever found. Correct?
Why then would you even bring it up?
You keep throwing out little tidbits of information that may or may not be true. Why do you do that?

on research and on this site and others reading away prior to me posting my first post. My wife just rolls her eyes when she sees me at it.
I have not been here as long as some that is for sure but it doesn't make me a bad or uninformed person.
I have yet to see one of these shack posts you keep talking about as they don't seem to exist on this particular forum. That is how old that news is. I just can't relate to it unless you can show me or direct me to one of the attacking posts. Seems like every time I ask for some sort of factual proof of something i get no response.
personally, I think it just needs to go away. It is toxic. There is nobody talking that talk currently . I think it would be more productive and enjoyable if we could stick to the issues. I don't have a dog in the fight with either Maura, FM, SBD, RF or any poster that posts here. Just interested in trying to piece together
facts and thoughts and someday see the end of what happened.
This is precisely what I was attempting to say. You worded it much better! I don't deny that some people were bullied or treated poorly on other forums.
I am sure that occurred
Cant we just get over it? Of at a minimum, not keep rehashing it ad nauseam.
Some seem to be holding out for an apology....from people on a long-defunct forum. Seems like the definition of an exercise in futility.
Of course, in the name of free speech, we may have to suffer these pointless points. Far be it for me to trample on your right to annoy.
Carry on.

Everyone knows maura is living in Ontario with a 'hunky' boy, barefoot and pregnant, stealing credit cards, buying pizza and cheap boxes o' wine watching porn videos of midgets and amputees.

That's what YOU think, Beagle. Get back in the box, back into the box. And STAY there.

Right. So somebody called "Matthew" -- http://www.topix.com/forum/city/amherst-ma/T6... reported finding duct tape and hair in November, 2009 (or so) while hunting off Rte 112. That "information" was posted February 9, 2010 on a thread that was started by "Beagle". "Mcsmom" is currently uncommitted about the "Matthew" sighting or the published media results and has been known to post from Silver Spring, MD (a known Beagle hang-out) on occasion, perhaps after too much "cab". "FrmLE" has "confirmed" that the duct tape/cloth/hair results are not MM's DNA, but cannot be reached for comment.
I was never on the Topix Amherst forum, that particular thread anyway. I was following websleuths at the time, where I saw the matthew post. I just looked at the original post just now on Topix, so I understand what your saying now.

I honestly was just thinking forensics this morning and since I never heard anything more about the hair and duct tape, I thought I'd ask.

I don't know why my location came up Silver Spring, MD.

I must confess, I do like fine wine,

Top of the hill on Triangle if you're driving up the hill - on Triangle - from Bruno's. I'm unaware of an Amherst Women's Club house there, but certainly could be one, just unaware of it.

If you leave Bruno's and take Triangle and drive up the hill, at the top of the hill the road turns a little sharply to the left, just as you crest the hill. If you drive up the hill with just a little speed at night, as the pizza delivery drivers do, you can see how easy it is to veer to the right at Matoon, right where there is a crosswalk.

But Vasi might have been hit somewhere else on Triangle. Or whatever happened to him.

BTW, I'm not discouraging you, but I think Renner already posted photos of the intersection of N. Hadley Road and Roosevelt, where the Corolla crashed.

It is what it is. At the end of the day, Renner is for-profit. I appreciate that he's investigating, please don't misunderstand. But he's not writing that book for us. And he's really only sorta doing it for Maura.
"kitten But he's not writing that book for us. And he's really only sorta doing it for Maura." I dont see how writing a book will find Maura. The only helpful thing for Maura is that she be found.

If this information is one in the same (it seems quite possible) Matthew's hair/cloths/duct tape sighting might be credible and mcsmom is correct. On February 8, 2010 “Peabody” posted the following on Websleuths:

Link: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.p...

Actual Post:
From the Union Leader
"Tests are being performed on possible new evidence in the mysterious disappearance six years ago of University of Massachusetts nursing student Maura Murray in Haverhill, according to Lt. James White, head of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit. Tuesday will mark the sixth anniversary of the day Murray vanished in the North Country after crashing her car on remote and winding Route 112 during a snowstorm shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9, 2004.
Some time in the last two weeks, police received new information in the case, White said, though he declined to say exactly what it is.
This case is very much active." he said.
As a result of the new leads, White said, police collected items that are now in the process of being tested.
Union Leader...Nancy West 2/7/1 (February 7, 2010)
Article not online”

Note: "Matthew" posted his message on February 9th, 2010 on Amherst Topix.

Question: Why was there no information in the media about the "evidence" NOT being related to MM? Or was there?

You can't see how a new investigation night be helpful? Writing the book won't find her, you're entirely right. But being honest and telling the true story for the first time can bring professionals closer. Unfortunately, if someone hurt Maura, it won't help her now to find her remains. It would help you all in her family though, which is why I just don't understand why everyone's upset with Renner. People in your very family talked with ID, and with Nancy Grace, and no new investigation was done-- they worked from the flawed, withheld evidence that already existed. And, I bet Nancy Grace made a fuckton more money off that ONE episode than James R will for a whole months worth of book sales. Look at the sales of his other stuff. He's not a New York Times Bestseller. He's a charismatic journalist with mediocre writing skills (you all know how I feel about good grammar) who found a niche that gets him some publicity. Nothing more, nothing less. We should be, as Beagle once suggested, hopeful but skeptical. I don't know why I just wrote a novel when I don't understand your point whatsodarnever.

So every car at the side of the road with out of town plates should automatically be treated as a missing person case?
Tom,
How about at least one abandoned car?...and when as in Maura's case, it was known or at least phoned in describing a female as the driver....and knowing that there have been a lot of missing (some found dead) females on both sides on the VT-NH border....maybe in at least ONE of these types of cases the situation could automatically and immediately have been turned over to the FBI. NOT ALL OF THEM....but at least ONE. Abandoned vehicle, approximately 130 miles from home, out-of-state license plates, young woman, 115 to 120 lbs, etc.....family insistent this individual is not a runaway, etc. This seems to be the profile of many missing and/or found remains cases. A lot of them not out-of-state but given the number of cases in-state, surely there would be enough cases to spare one situation to turn over immediately to the FBI? The entire case....right from the very beginning?

Fred Murray first thought that Muara ran away. He spoke to to the media and made a plea out to Maura to come home. Even when he saw the rag stuffed in the muffler he still thought she ran away. So if the father is thinking she ran away what should law enforcement be doing?

I think the FBI should get involved with some cases after they suspect foul play. I don't think we should waste the resource of the FBI on a family that is with holding information from the beginning, and not even sure if fould play was involved. Also how do you know the FBI didn't look at the case. You don't think someone up there might have said lets look at this and see if we can solve this and get our name in the paper? How do you know they weren't tailing Fred Murray around thinking he might be hiding the body or someone else. If they were following people around would they tell us. Does the FBI tell us all the cases they are involved in and what they know?

The FBI doesn't need nor should ever get involved in runaway cases. It isn't their job to find people who don't want to be home.

Bill I don't think that happens that quickly. I don't think she crashed her car and to avoid a DUI killed herself. Suicide is usually a premeditated event not a spontaneous event.

Tom,
Kudos! LOL Finally, someone to address the issue of premeditation! Tom, many on this site seem almost hopeful that she opted to commit suicide. They appear to be pressing frantically for the suicide theory. Why? Who knows. It's as though they truly believe that a possible drunk driver "got away" and they're burning the sacred candles to emotionally destroy, lynch her. Sounds sick? Yes, it is sick. Unfortunately,a few posters on this forum actually appear to conceptualize suicide as some impromtu event,a spontaneous "sport" of sorts. MM's disappearance has nothing to do with alcohol and everything to do with a bad guy who is being protected as some kind of local hero? Possibly. Keeping the focus on the "alcohol" and off the bad guy certainly keeps him safe. Maybe some type of road signs are needed that clearly state, "Young Women Beware." A least try to warn them.

answer: "everyone" is upset with Renner because he dares seek the truth about what happened to MM.
they have, for as long as forum discussions have taken place, limited information to the public, but they do not correct the record to establish truths about MM. instead, there is a pattern of redirecting responsibility for MM's actions and/or excusing them without consideration of choices she made that may have put her at risk for her eventual disappearance.

so far, their fears are palpable, but their reactions aren't matched to specific points of data. it will be challenging, but perhaps Renner can connect the dots.

he is the first to actively research in an organized, formal manner. i trust he will uncover truths.
