in any statement? what she about beagle was horrid.

I respect the law - and when you start stating "LAW'S - Federal"
mind you. Then state your source - then I too would have respect. I would never say I respect any statement someone made - I am not a follower - I make my own decisions with factual inforamtion. Blind faith is a leap with a internet poster. good grief.

Food for thought.

Easy to think along these lines especially this time of year.

NHSP had a photograph of Maura during their first press release. Does anyone know when the first photograph of Maura was given to media?

Mrs. Westman's 911 call was a man smoking a cigarette. The approaching school bus headlights on Maura's car could have given her a reason to think this.

SBD only saw her from the mouth up. I guess thats the same as saying he didn't see her chin.

Cashin or Smith later the night of Feb 9th, chased a suspicious individual with a goatee.

What made them suspicious of a person with a goatee?

If I remember correctly the person with the goatee was acting suspiciously and or loitering by Riverview Market in Woodsville several miles away.
The bus would have blocked the view of the car from the Westman's window and if a man was seen in the headlights from the approaching bus then where did the man go in a couple seconds time?
SBD was married so I'm sure he knew the difference between a man and a women.
And let's not forget that Mr W thought it was a cell phone light. They didn't agree on what they thought they saw.
Some food for thought.

Exactly. There was no evidence of a man smoking or otherwise at the car when SBD was there or when Smith examined the area. I suspect, for good reason, that Mrs. W was mistaken, an honest mistake but a mistake none the less.

I have it somwhere but the first flyer was made from a photograph one of the sisters provided - I believe it was Kathleen. Remember they only had BOL out until Fred arrived and created a command post and created the flyers.

I have no idea about the goatee

The guy with the goatee was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and causing some kind of disturbance. He could have had long hair or even a wig, but I don't know if he could pull off the whole look of being "Maura" The M-netts saw this person walking around the car.....maybe they thought it was a male? What puzzles me is Mrs. W-Wan. She's in her computer room, hears an acceleration and then this big thud. She rushes over to look and if the truth is there, she calls police to say what she sees. She's on the phone several minutes,(was it she who said Maura stayed in the car for five minutes)? But anyway she stated that she stopped looking when she saw the "GIRL" out there with her neighbor, SBD. She never did say, oh boy that "girl" was smoking at first in the passenger seat, until I saw her again outside the car not smoking. She kept saying she saw what she saw and she saw Maura too.
You asked earlier about the tracks leading up to some kind of power poles. I can only wonder if the teen who wanted to die by hanging from one or whatever it was that he threatened may have made those tracks. But just for speculation, if it's hard to hide in that exact spot, climbing the pole might be helpful when police are passing by. The tracks only went to and fro the pole with no deviation.

I suspect that Mr. W. could also have been mistaken. I am not saying there def. was a man smoking a cigarette. Did they both see this at the same time or did Mrs. W. describe to Mr. W. what she had seen and he presumed it was a cell phone. JMO

I hold on to the facts that SBD never saw a man and he was right there. Smith never smelled or reported cigarette ash in the car or the area he searched around the car. All something he would have noticed.

Smith took several minutes to arrive. How would You know IF Smith smelled cigarette smoke or saw ashes that night. None of that info is public even IF it did happen.

Do You know Smith or someone else connected to this case who supplied You with this info.

I am still reeling from this absurd statement. I mean.. come on.. "ANY" statement. from an internet poster. dangerous territory Anne. That is a disservice to the missing. She quoted a bogus/false law - there isn't one.

Lets get that FEDERAL LAW. I watched Dissappearred about the case local here to me - in Seattle. What a nightmare - 8 days and she was in a car accident......... Loved the part about PHONE RECORDS tho.

Calling EWB

Cite your sourse and RCW please........ Please for the families of Missing what is the FEDERAL Law.

Took ONE hour from getting her PHONE "R E C O R D S" and they found her from the last ping her phone sent. She was trapped in her car the whole time. Not missing but trapped.. and the police would not take a police report from the husband... Unreal and in my home state..

Something Smith saw warranted keeping EMS and fire away from the car. His actions are contradicted by his statement regarding thinking it was just another abandoned car by skiers.

So, what inside the car caused Smith to go into "the scene of a crime" mode?

I've said this quite some time ago when this came up. Since we're going back once again in a full circle I'll repeat it.
Smith saw no one in the car. If there was no patient for the EMS to tend to then why have them park on that sharp curve and jeopardize their safety and the safety of others that might be driving around that curve. Same with FD.
Nothing strange about it at all. I think he did the right thing to keep everybody back.

Since someone left the scene of an accident I suspect he went into "investigation" mode. Trying to figure out who was there, how many and where they might have gone and why did they fell it necessary to flee the area?

It has been my experience that innocent people rarely (my experience is never) leave the scene of an accident and don't return. If they do leave it is for medical help, or to make a phone call etc. Those people actually come back. Only people with some reason to run from an accident actually do so and don't return. I would suspect that any officer or emergency worker has had similar experiences.

Smith arrived @ 7:46 PM and EMS arrived @ 7:56 PM. EMS was only @ the scene for "6 MINUTES".

SO.......In "16 MINUTES" Smith decided that EMS was not needed and released them from the scene. How did he know she wasn't just around the corner laying in the road or in a snowbank. Smith ONLY checked the car, went to the Westmans and to Atwoods, He had not checked any further distance at this point in time.

As far as them being parked right on the corner: They could have pulled into Old Peters rd. or parked in the LARGE Weathered Barn parking lot.

Maybe Maura was picked up by "The Woodsville Stagecoach" and dropped off at the local saloon.

This is BULLCRAP

You keep yelling but you really don't have a clue what you are talking about.

EMS releases EMS not police. A medical scene can simultaneously be a crime scene but medical treatment of a secured crime scene takes priority until such time as EMS releases it. Someone in the EMS service returned them, not the police. Though police are often kind enough to give us updates on patient information and number since they often arrive first.

It takes a minute to decide to release a crew. They likely have one ambulance in the town and the EMT's are likely all volunteers. We don't hold them for hours for someone that has run from the scene.
Why?
1. Because the ambulance might be needed elsewhere.
2. These crews actually do try to have a life with their families.
3. They are VOLUNTEERS.
4. If you piss them off enough with calls that do nothing except sitting around for hours they will stop responding.
5. If someone actually wanted assistance they would have waited at the car.
6. If they were as injured as badly as you suggest, they couldn’t have gotten out of the car.
7. If the person was found during a search and needed medical assistance you can always call EMS back.

Your argument is not only specious its actually stupid.

I believe Maura didn’t wait for the stagecoach or ambulance because she was fine, except for the alcohol. Instead she ran away from the car and caught a ride from person or persons unknown to location or locations unknown.

It is really too bad she didn’t wait at the car and face the music instead of running off. We wouldn’t still be having these stupid conversations, I mean entertainment.
