Just me--paris wrote: Just woke up again....something I read in your post Citygirl. If you think and can say that Maura was witnessed at the *TRUNK* just prior, maybe she actually stuffed the rag to stay warm in the process of what she figured might happen next,(being towed)and.......she hid in the trunk? I know it's been mentioned before but I've never given anyone as much credit for witness testimony as I would for you, a family member. And please know I honestly keep track with whatever rail I'm on...until I am sure of a correction or an update. Then I redo my route to include or exclude the error. Thank you. Witnesses had claimed to see the trunk light and interior lights go on and off. It was stated that it was to dark to say if it was a male or female at the vehicle. The only one whom was able to definately say it was a female was SBD because he actually talked to the driver of the saturn. When I reply to a posting it does not mean Iam personally attacking a poster. So please dont take it that way.

I wonder that too, especially since it is on those Grafton County call logs that they are looking for the girl with the rag in the tailpipe. Either the tow guy got there really fast, or someone in LE happened to look there and find it? I don't own a car, but I can't imagine why anyone would put a rag in a tailpipe for any reason.

I could provide my social security number and a xeroxed copy of my behind to some of these people, and they still would insist I am someone I am not. Last week, I gave one guy here my phone number so he could verify I am not in fact Beagle or his lawyer. That's how silly this has gotten. I am sorry for having said anything or for doubting your word. Amy...You My Friend need not apologize. I am wondering once this is confirmed if there will be any apologies forthcoming from the ones who have so vehemently called Me a liar over and over. looking4amoose wrote: <quoted text>What would possess anyone to even look far into the tailpipe? looking4amoose, A very good question indeed! I have always wondered the same. What on earth would have made anyone actually check the inside of the Saturnīs tailpipe, especially since the rag likely wasnīt visible from the outside. Someone on this board also mentioned that it would take at least 15-20 minutes after the engine was turned off for the tailpipe to cool down enough for anyone not to get burned when trying to push a rag into a tailpipe. Someone else suggested some kind of stick could have been used to push the rag into the tailpipe if it was still too hot to touch. Nothing here makes any sense.

I will be interested to know if the charger that she did pack was found in the car. I am trying to reach Peri who seems to remember everything, remembers that. I truly think that what she brought with her while exiting the car in whatever manner is important. Tells a tale about her state of mind.

Who first reported the rag in tailpipe?

The only explanation I can think of regarding the rag in the tailpipe is that someone for some reason knew on beforehand that the rag would be there, stuffed into the tailpipe. But again, how would anyone know such a thing???

Not sure why they would look in the tailpipe, but could be common practice when a car is towed away from an accident scene and looked over. Especially when wondering what the heck happened to the driver. Anyone care to speak to that? Mechanics out there?

Bumping for Maura wrote: Another thing: I was re-reading the excellent and detailed Whitman-Hanson Express article series by Marybeth Conway on the MM case the other day. Itīs probably the best summary available out there and one thing kind of stood out in the part of the series headlined "The Accident". Ms Conway states that there apparently were at least two witnesses who stopped and spoke with Maura at the WB curve, one of them being the school bus driver Mr Atwood. According to Ms Conway Mr Atwood never said that he thought Maura seemed intoxicated. But apparently an unnamed witness at the scene was of the opinion that Maura probably was intoxicated. The name of this purported second witness has never been mentioned anywhere as far as I know. Any ideas? If theres a coverup, could the second witness be part of it?Im thinking Rogue Le or rapidly responded Tow truck that came across Rogue LE at the seen.was Maura knocked out in the trunk of second witness? When others arrived at the scene the Perp shoved the rag into tailpipe after subduing Maura with it?..My fear/threatened Theory.

Upon officers arrival, found car, no driver with a rag stuffed in the tail pipe." https://docs.google.com/viewer... It's on Page 7.

This would be a perfect opportunity for "Det. Columbo" to come forward with factual info. He never does.. I hear crickets.

It was never stated how far the rag was in the tail pipe. Only that one of the responders was bothered by this.

With other LE approaching,And still holding the rag,The person put the rag in the tailpipe, the rag he had used on Maura, and could later say "Hey,look at this in the tailpipe".Maybe to "add" his finger prints?
