Thank you.:-) I am also curious what you mean about they did not search past BHR east due to no footprints. I thought the roads were dry, according to the accident report. Did they think she would walk in the snow instead of the road, or what does that mean?

I appreciate the info and believe what You are telling Me. I am just having an issue with Him being called that night especially seeing that Haverhill LE figured that the driver had just gone to Mtn Lakes.
They never really started a real search til Wed. the 11th. And when they put out the BOL on tues at Noon it was put out on grafton A, Hav, Littleton and Lisbon local.
Are You sure He met Mon. Feb 9th or was He talking about one of the following days.
Thank You.....John
Yeah--he said that he got it the night she disappeared. He was only in the area a few days...I only see him every couple of months but next time I do, I will ask for clairification.

Not to say you're wrong, but Citigirl's information seems to be contradictory to where a search would've been if someone has been seen walking west on 112 toward 302. Mountain Lakes is immediately after the site on 112.

I think we should set up a Survey Monkey type thing here since there's no new info.......Here goes.....
A) Maura met up with foul play on 112
B) Maura met up with foul play following her leaving the 112 site with someone she knew
C) Maura ran away and is living somewhere else
D) Maura met up with foul play prior to arriving at the site on 112
E) Maura went off into the woods to take her own life
Voting is now open
looking4amoose-"voting is now open" People have there own thoughts and opinions but to ask people to vote I personally think is cruel. This is no joke to our family. Maura has been missing since Feb. 9,2004 she is deeply loved and missed by many.Evidently you have never had a family member missing.

Amy, in that area it would be extremely difficult to walk in the snow because, at that time, the snow was very crunchy and jagged due to the melting and refreezing of the plowed edge. There's no "sidewalk" on 112 and in most spots, the woods are at the very edge of the road. Just my opinion, but one would have to walk in the road....even in the summer I have to walk in the road when I walk in that area.

That is why you haven't heard from me for most of the day. Headed back to hell. I call it Connecticut.

And I don't know why you think I hate you. I don't. Don't hate anyone on the forum. Well, maybe one. Not hate, just a total lack of respect. I just don't like some of the things you are trying to pass off as fact. And under no condition do I want your name or anyone elses name outed on a public forum. There is nothing serious going on here. After all, its just the internet, not life.

Actually citi--I have lost family in other countries....two of them are still missing from Iraq actually with no definites known--one of them is my brother, the other a cousin...fewer definites than what is known about Maura. I'm always looking for what the sentiment is on how they have disappeared; whether or not there's a chance that either is alive. There was no harm intended, I'm looking for data--I'm a numbers person--data based---I like to understand how people interpret things. I could've posted much worst sentiment based on the recent developments that were publicized but I didn't. Trust me, if I meant to be cruel, it would've been obvious.

Thank you, that's helpful. It is hard for me to picture what it might have been like, since I have never been there. Also hard to make sense of what might have happened, since there is so much conflicting information.

The funniest part of this statement is that you act like it is a popularity contest. The more people that thinks it was foul play that means that you win. WoooHooo. Problem is, the truth isn't a popularity contest. Logic doesn't take a vote. Even if you convince more non thinkers or people that don't care what the evidence shows. It doesn't matter. Only the evidence matters if you really want to find the truth. No evidence of any kind of bad things happening to Maura at the accident scene. Other than the car accident. But we can vote on if we want to make believe that something bad happened to her. But that seems kind of dumb, a waste of time. I don't know why anyone would want to do that.

L4M ~ i regard the "survey" as an honest approach to capturing the sentiments and thought processes of forum members about the disappearance of MM. i do not believe you intended any harm or disrespect, and have given some thought to answering.
i am sorry you have had the misfortune of missing family members, and hope for their return.

CS went to Old Peters way or road and towardsor to French pond road. M talked to RO whom was headed home to Bunga Road.and SBD went to search French pond Road. Why did they all go in the same direction: Responders said they only went to the end of BHR on 112 because they saw no foot prints.

<quoted text> What is the Eddys? 302 is west of where the vehicle was found.....how far down 112--that's one dangerous walk because of the narrowness of the road and the river on the right side when heading west.
The Big Eddy is the swimming hole next to the covered bridge.
The Little Eddy is a smaller swimming hole further down the river going toward 302.

hindsight is 20/20.
with all due respect, why didn't Maura tell someone/anyone of her plan to leave UMASS so family or friends would know where to look for her? instead, she thought ahead to provide a lie to her academic supervisor.

<quoted text>Frostman Iam talking about the night of Feb. 9,2004 when Maura disappeared. SBD had stated that the first person he had seen on the seen was a NHSP officer. He also gave the name of this person. One of the responders had stated the search to the east only went to the end of BHR on 112 because there were no visible foot prints. One responder said that CS said maybe she went to visit a friend at the Mountain Lakes .While headed toward the scene of the accident. They also said they saw some one walking down near the Eddys.{unknown who this person was or if it had anything to do with Maura} Another person responding to the scene also claimed to see some one walking on 112 toward 302 {unknown who this person was or if it had anything to do with Maura}
Perhaps Maura did leave her car and headed on foot NW back towards Woodsville (makes sense!) on Route 112 and was abducted northwest of the crash site (closer to the Covered Bridge & Big Eddy & SSS) and was "put" in a vehicle that then travelled eastward (SE)?

If that vehicle (with her inside) passed by her crashed car and kept on going what results might a singular tracking dog (i.e. the Troop F seconded Bloodhound) on February 11th come up with?

Snowy, do you think that Maura was planning to kill herself? Run away? Not being rude, just trying to figure out if that is what you were implying with your last reply to CitiGirl.
