Also makes me wonder about the makeup that was found in her car, her family stated several times that Maura never wore makeup so why did she need makeup?

I would think someone would know what brand her backpack is, I gues it's very possible no one ever paid attention but not one of her friends of family know that? Ask me what brand backpack my gf uses for college and I'll know in a second. They knew it was big and had a compartment for a laptop, but didn't know the brand? Seems odd. On top of that, I thought they did know the brand. I thought it was conning knowledge on the mm forum and the mmm forum that it was a jansport, but I could be remembering wrong. I don't think I am but I obviously could b wrong |

Judged: 1 1 I agree. Look at this picture of her. It's clear there's a shadow in the same area, probably because of the way her face is shaped. JMO http://www.bittenandbound.com/wp-content/uplo... |
Judged: 2 2 2 It seems possible there is no description of the backpack as it could one day be found and LE would not want that information out there. Doesn't that seem sensible? |

Judged: 2 1 1 I agree that you can definitively say it's a black eye, & I don't think I said it def was. But it sure as hell looks like it is. What's your explanation for that huge black mark on the left side of her nose? Look at the right side of her face, looks like the bruising is over there too. It looks like she nearly broke her nose, broken nose give u bruising under your eyes generally. Look at the shape of the black spot, it even has a classic bruising pattern. What else could it be besides bruising? Seriously, what else? I know the pic is grainy but that almostakes it worse. That it came through in such a shitty picture and the subsequent copying of said photo means something was there. I find it interesting that this pic was taken at 2:30 am when she was alone in her room, obviously not expecting to see anyone she knew. I'm NOT saying she definitely had a black eye but I'd put $ down that she did. What else Could that mark be? |

Anne-wouldn't LE WANT the brand of
Backpack released so if someone finds it they'll turn it in? Generally, from what I can tell, in missing person cases they try to release any and all info about what someone was wearing/carrying when they went missing, including the brand and anything distinctive about it. I guess this, as with a lot of other things, this case is not like most dissapearances. |

Judged: 2 1 You need to understand how dithering works. I can't explain it in a couple of sentences. Dithers are a way to reproduce a gray scale with only black and white. Mathematically I could write the formulas but that wouldn't likely help either. Just look at how big the areas are in relation to the overall picture. And remember you only have one choice, black or white. If the number of levels you have are small, or the threshold is screwed up, you can get odd artifacts. But it is such a small photo and the dithers are relatively large. I personally can not say that she has a black eye any more than I can tell you her eye color from those photos. Bill |

Judged: 1 I've seen LE's description of it, but perhaps they haven't said the name brand. |
Judged: 3 3 2 February 12,2004 Edition: State Section: Local Page: b1 IN BRIEF Article Text: Search under way for missing woman HAVERHILL- A search is under way for a Massachusetts woman who has not been seen since a car accident Monday night in a remote area of Woodsville. Haverhill Police Chief Jeff Williams said foul play is not suspected, but there is concern about the whereabouts of Maura Murray, 21, of Hanson, Mass. She is described as "possibly suicidal." Just before 7p.m. Monday, Haverhill police responded to a report of a single-car accident on the sparsely populated Wild Ammonoosuc Road, where Route 112 follows the Wild Ammonoosuc River. |

Judged: 1 1 1 You have only seen very few of my contributions out of all the ones I have made over the many years. I still retain the right to call'em as I see'em. There are some people at times that can write things so stupid that I cannot expect that the "answer", when given, would be understood. And very ofter, it is a case where the "answer" has been given repeatedly and it is refused to be believed. During those times, it is simpler, and uses less energy to just tell them that their idea is too stupid to be commented on. Bill |
Judged: 2 2 1 posted by White Wash.... Who is lying this above Witness or the Police of Chief? Since Smith blew by him in Dark Hollow aka Rangers Station on RT 10. Call me stupid but I think he NOTED the time what do you all think? I personally think he isn't that stupid to know I could and would time that to Smith's arrival. White Wash around Oct. 1 2008 |

Judged: 1 1 1 Could it be that Maura at the time was living somewhere in the Northeast Kingdom of VT with an abusive boyfriend, possibly the same one who might have caused that possible black eye back in 2003, and therefore had to apply a lot of make-up before venturing out? I´m aware that LE has apparently debunked the Barton sighting - although I have never seen it being officially debunked - but the Barton church witness apparently was adamant at the time that he had met and briefly spoken with Maura. |

Judged: 2 2 2 At 7:17 Littleton has a suicide call At 7:03(7:27) Haverhill gets report of accident. At 9:20 Haverhill gets call for suicide at powerlines. Looks like they were just putting Maura into the "Suicide Group" that night. They certainly played that ACE IN THE HOLE very quickly. Maybe it was a full moon that night. John |
Judged: 1 1 If she died in the elements after the accident and has not been found, there would be little left of evidence except the backpack, cellphone, etc.. That's what I was thinking. |

Judged: 1 1 1 I can see that but why do u think I've seen very few of your comments over the years? I've been here the whole time, I was a member of the orig mm site even before it became mmm. I recently just started posting again after about a 2 yr absence from posting, but ive been reqdin the whole time. So I've seen hundreds and hundreds of posts from you for years now. I've been using the same moniker since the beginning, every time I've ever posted, FYI. |

Judged: 1 No, it doesn´t. If someone had found a maybe torn and dirty backpack somewhere, they would be very unlikely to contact LE, not knowing it might be connected to a missing persons case. |
