There is a video of Maura taken at Christmas with family in 2003, not published, with one exception … either 20/20 or Investigative Discovery made a still picture of Maura out of the video.
Maura did not often wear her hair down. The high school picture was used to show what she looked like with her hair down.Keep in mind when Maura went to WP then to Amherst where she was attending classes, working 2 jobs, traveling to & working clinicals while remaining on the dean’s list it probably didn’t leave a lot of time for photo ops.
Of note … through the years there are probably more pictures of Maura Murray & more coverage of Maura out there, unlike many missing persons who do not have an abundance of pictures, unfortunately. Have you ever searched The Doe Network?

Which brings me to the “pseudo mug shot,” the one a few people have questioned is even Maura. We see no proof that this was even taken by the PD. There are more questions than answers. I couldn't agree more. How the h*ll do you stand this inane bullsh*t? The family posts pictures of a beautiful girl who is missing,(and IMO murdered) yet feeble-minded posters feel entitled to pick apart the photographs as if they were British Vogue photo-shoots gone wrong. They all need to look in the mirror and hope they never have to face this type of tragedy.

Ok the "standar operating procedure" I was referring to would be first of all giving up to date pictures that look like she looks currently. That is hugely important, & as you stated above it apears that there are some relatively recent photos available now, the picture released on the flier was her from west point almost 2 yes before that.
Second- would be the family/friends would tell EVERYTHING they know about her life just prior to her disappearance. Not this "her life in Amherst doesnt matter, find her!" bullshit. Seriously, what the hell kind of shit is that. Whether she was killed or ran away there's a 99% chance that whatever was happening in her life is responsible or can give you answers. To quote scarinza "if we knew why she left maybe we could figure out where she was goin"
Third- the family should cooperate with any and all investigations fully 100%. Fred did not do this. He didn't even sit down for an interview for 2 years! & then he just expects to be fed inside information about the investigation? Is this guy serious? Generally you cooperate, get eliminated as a suspect, & then they will give u inside info. He didn't do that, instead he talked shit about the cops to the media, almost as if he was trying to piss them off bad enough to not even try looking for his daughter.
I hope reading this you don't think that I'm a LE apologist, go back and read some of my previous posts. I think Nh LE is one of the worst investiagtive bodies out there, one that couldn't catch the clap in a Mexican whorehouse.

Shouldn't the family have released any and all photos of her. I agree that during school she didn't have extra time for photo ops but she was just home for the holidays.
And that video that they showed still pics on the ID show. Why not release that to the public? That would probably do a hell of a lot more than some old photos of her, it would show people what she looks like and how she acts.
Is there a reason they don't want that video made public? I can't possibly think of a good reason to keep it private.
I'll admit that I'm not an expert on missing person cases, I'm just looking at this objectively. & it would seem that the family made some strange choices at the beginning, like choosing not to talk
About her life in mass which is still largely a mystery.
& you comment about them bringing picture with them being pretty good foresight. They are travelling across the country to go look for their missing loved one I would hope they would bring pictures of her with them. This isn't good foresight this is basic steps. It's not like they thought to bring all recent photos and videos of her from over the holidays, oh yea they still haven't even released that.

First of all the family should make available as many up to date photos as they can as old photos are of little help. Yes there are a bunch of more current photos now but the ones that were originally released were several years old, such as the wp pic that was used on her flier. This family was travelling across the country to go look for her I wouldn't call bringing pictures of her pretty good foresight, I'd call that necessary.

Second- the family should make available any and all information pertaining to her life prior to her disappearance. Most likely this is where the answer is going to be found. They dot have to release this publicly but LE has clearly stated that they didn't release it to them either, why??
You got Fred with his "it doesn't matter, find her" bullshit. What the hell kind of shit is that? There's a 99% chance that something in her life prior to feb 9 2004 holds the key to solving this mystery, so why all the secrecy. Looking back it's almost as if they were more interested in maintaining her image then finding her. I'm not saying that's the case but it sure looks like it.

Be the standard procedure I was referring to above. I'm sorry if it sounded cruel but I've been following this since day 1 and honestly I feel cimpletley scammed by Fred. I thought that they shouldve released the files to him but I also thought he was cooperating with LE. Now that I know he wasn't I totally agree with the courts decision.
Major crimes was involved within a few days so clearly they think a murder occurred and were investigating it as such. So why was Fred telling everyone that he was the investigation? He made it out like he was on a one man quest to find his daughter. If that was truly the case why wasn't he working with major crimes to eliminate himself?
I find it very interesting that they've never said that Fred was eliminated as a suspect. It's a fucked up thing to say I know, and it sucks that it's true but it's most likely sOmeone Maura knew and knew well who is responsible for this. And going strictly by the #'s it's most likely a family member. I am NOT saying that I think this is the
Case but any investigation will never get anywhere if the family doesn't cooperate
