Damn dude, shitty birthday huh? I can relate, 2 yrs ago my dad and my dog both died on my birthday...that day just doesn't have the same meaning anymore for me.
As for Fred your totally right and I can see both sides too, that's what I meant by saying I don't think there necessarily should be a hate mr Murray bandwagon, at least not just yet.
But I'd you've been sound since the beginning I think you might have a different take like I do. I was on the orig mm site and then the mmm site and the whole family was made out to be saints. I remember even arguing that the FBI should be brought in.
But now I feel like I was totally scammed by Fred. He is definitely good at spin and made it out like he was left out in the cold by Nh LE and I filly supported him, but then I also assumed that he had sat down for many official interviews w LE and he was ruled out.
Then I come to find out that he didn't sit down for a real interview for 2 years after and brought 2 lawyers with him when he finally did.
I was appalled when I found that out an honestly felt like an idiot for supporting him and jumping on LE so bad.
You will never get me to say that Nh LE r good at investigating things or they did a great job in this case but it looks like they did pretty much as good of a job as they could considering the circumstances. There was definitely a few key things they didnt do but for the most part they have investigated the case fully.
Major crimes was brought in within 2 days but listening to fred in the first 2 yrs u would think that nobody even bothered to look.
I'm not ready to say Fred is resonsivle but I am saying that I feel completely scammed by the guy, he def tricked me. That leads me to my thinking of what else did he trick us about ad ten the 2 days when Maura went missing he was Bo where to be found, that's after telling Maura to call him bc he would be Around. Hmmmm
I feel ya on that brah!! & I agree with what your saying 100%!! I posted a huge Mason link, it will take awhile to read it all & you will get a sense of what all he said.. Id grab the link before its gone!!
I gotta get back to work!!

I've beeneeading thru those posts u posted and I can't find any mention of Fred Murray in them. Am I missing something? It looks to me like some argument between dawn & he, another talk about libel on an Internet forum.

I think this should be said because theres a lot of talk about libel on here from time to time.
I can tell you for a fact, that no matter what is said on a forum about somebody you will NEVER won a suit for libel, at least not in the US.
in this country it is extremely difficult to prove libel. First it has to be in a major media setting, which forums certainly do not fall into that category.
Second you have to be able to prove direct damages caused by the posts.
I can garauntee that nobody will ever be successfully sued for saying anything about anybody on an online forum, not gonna happen.
If people can't prove libel against major sources like the national enquirerer does anyone really think that they'd be able to prove libel bc of a topix post? I understand mason was probably trying to scare dawn but he sounds pretty silly trying to seriously say he's gonna sue her for libel.

I said this above bit felt it should be said again in it's own post:
Why wasn't Fred available until late Tuesday nite? Why couldn't the cops get ahold of him?
He was supposedly working but something doesn't make sense:
He specifically says that he told Maura to call him Monday nite after 8 so he could help her fill out the accident forms. So that means he was supposed to be available, right?
Its not like he told her to call him in Wednesday because he was gonna b busy working, no, he told her to call him Monday nite.
So why would he tell Maura he was gonna be around and then when police are trying to contact him he's nowhere to be found for almost 2 days??
That is highly suspicious in my eyes
I would bet that for LE he is the prime suspect in this case
Possibly LE only had a home phone number for Fred and he wasn't home because he was at work. My recall is that he did have a cell phone that he carried with him, so it would be reasonable for him to ask Maura to call him on the cell phone -- maybe he had a break at 8 PM or was off work by then. But I think at the time he was working at a hospital some distance from his home. If my recall is right on these things, then it's not surprising that LE could not reach him and Fred would not have received their messages on his home phone until he got back home presumably the next day. He is a radiology technician, and I think at that time he traveled around to different hospitals.

Anyone else remember the above?

If you're on Twitter, you should look at some of the CDLs I follow on there. Most I know personally, as in I've sat down and broken bread with their families. CDLs, in general, are some real goofballs. They do strange things in their spare time.:-)
Not just CDLs! Lawyers I know of other stripes can be pretty strange as well in their off hours ;)

Yep, that. The ones I was thinking of were called IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and mIRC, but I know that AOL had chat rooms back then that worked much the same way.

Oh! Thank you, Hannah. I have that show saved on my computer. I should watch it again. It's been a while.
It's too bad the old forums aren't archived someplace, so people could still read them. Did anyone save them? Simply Caustic asked that the other day, but I didn't see if anyone responded.
The original MM forums (there were at least 2 of them, maybe 3 in 2004, 2005 and maybe into 2006?) as far as I know were not archived in any way. When they went down, they went down suddenly -- and without notice, so that posters didn't even have time to go and copy out email addresses they wanted, etc. Probably unintentional, as Helena Murray who ran the forums was new at that kind of thing. I note that my first MM forum is still "up" but the links don't work, and I don't know of any way to archive it ... I had wanted to transfer the contents over when I set up the second forum, and could not find any way to do that.

I gotta say it's way nicer when people aren't throwing out stupid mean personal attacks at each other.

If u think about it even the time she left campus is a clue that points to her travelling with someone else. She apparently had been looking at places to stay the night before so she knew that she was leaving it wasn't totally spur of the moment.. Why wouldn't she want to leave early in the day if her car was so fucked up. If she's travelling alone wouldn't she rather do it during the day? Anyone would rather drive during the day if they could right? She coulda left at noon or even lilke 1-2 and still would've driven most of the way while it's light out.
So we r supposed to believe that her car was such a piece of shit that she wouldnt drive it around town but she now wants to drive it to Nh, on a freezing February night? Could be as simple as her lying to her dad & bf about jow shitty her car is so she can get a new one.
It's crazy how much shit in this case makes absolutely no sense.

What's up with the nhsp? They said that there's a 75% chance of a trial in this case, that was several years ago. Obviously they have a prime suspect that they're convinced did it but they need to find the body or they'll never have the evidence to convict anyone

<quoted text> ... I find it very telling that LE had never come out and said that they've eliminated him as a suspect, which they generally do. Generally when someone in the family is eliminated they let the public know be use by default the family is the prime suspect.
LE has also not come out and said that they've eliminated anyone else in the Murray family ... or any of Maura's friends ... or the Westmans for that matter. I don't think it means anything that LE has not said they have eliminated Fred.
Jenkins wrote:
... I believe that LE thinks he is the suspect but without the body or any physical evidence they can't bring a case to court. Notice they've never even said whether they can confirm his work records, why not?? Seems odd.

Why would that be odd? LE has not made a lot of information publicly available that they no doubt have. We the public may be frustrated by this, but it's not unusual for LE to hold most info close.
Jenkins wrote:
... Then u got renner pulling high school year book photos from a porno in the back of his house??
The house did not just belong to Fred, and from what Renner said it seemed fairly clear that other family members were living there for some time. For all we know, those questionable magazines belonged to some teenager in the family who just stuck photos and notes and what not into his magazines. I don't think we can make any kind of deductions about Fred based on this stuff.

Just as an aside -- that setup they did re the TOT and bartender serving "virtual drinks" ... this was like a spin-off of a type of chat forum that was popular online in the 1990's....That type of format had a number of "social" options available, such that participants could give each other a beer or coffee or whatnot, give a hug, slap someone with a fish, and so on.
That "slap someone with a fish" thing could come in handy. Can we bring that back into trend?:-)

That's too bad. Understandable though. Not all of us are tech gurus. I'm glad your board is still up. It's next to impossible to find anything here. Luckily you and a few others have good memories, so I can send you annoying emails to ask questions.:-D

Sorry, Advocat t
(mind if I call you that?), the last was meant for the wonderfully prolific Amy and not your good self.

The one with the rabbits, the teeth (which she takes pics of herself, trying to look sultry, and posts all over) and the incredibly hectic career.

The one with whom I share a mutual contact. The one who's yanking your chains.

What made you change your mind from the old days?

JENKINS Plymouth, NH Posted: Tue Aug 07, 2007:

It is pretty obvious that if it wasn't for fred's persistance and investigation, LE would be absolutyl no farther than they were on feb 9 '04. I mean come on, if they knew about the red truck on that night, you would think they would have the case solved by now. but no, they have gotten no farther.

im starting to think they did know about the red truck. But they also knew they didn't find it and the chances of them finding it were very slim. So instead of admitting to the public that Maura was most likely abducted and asking the public to look for this red truck with Mass plates they decided to deny and cover up the truth.

If they told the public the truth back then, right now the comunity would be pissed at them for not finding Maura and bringin her abductor to justice. Instead, most of the community has forgotten about it because back in '04 all they heard was that some drunk, suicidal girl couldn't be found. Nothing to worry about, no murderer that abducts girls around here.

This is probably why LE didn't want to hear RO's info about her sighting of the red truck. They didn't want her to think the red truck was important.

LE will never admit Maura was abducted unless they are charging someone. They would never admit it if there was a chance they wouldn't catch the perp. THey won't make themselves look bad.

OF the handling of this case it looks to me like NHLE is much more interested in their image than finding a missing girl."

Mason putting FM on trial online was one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen. Ironically, up until he did that, I had suspected FM to a degree. Mason's hit-job totally changed my mind about it. It was wrong and he shouldn't have done it, especially if he really believed FM was guilty. I don't think he did, I think someone hired him to do that hit-job.
while Mason doesn't require any defense, i believe his conclusions are no more or less idiotic than any/every other point of speculation made by so many. in fact, his 30+ years lend perspective and instinct that were evident by the open thought process he revealed online. while i don't agree with most aspects of his final conclusion, only time will reveal what is still unknown and unconfirmed.
