Firewood, all curcuits were busy, but 911 did call back to the caller near BHR. His x wife answered and I would imagine she was adlibbing. Her x likely walked in and said some girl just broke down, I tried calling it in, take care of it for me, I'm going out to the bus. Then, dispatch calls back, asks, so where is the girl now', and Barbara, who may not have been looking out there or who was unable to see between trees, said I have no idea where the girl is.
What matters here is that the other neighbors could see her.

What I mean by this is:
In my opinion:
I have to agree with a most of the posts last night about Fred Murray being a possible POI. James Renner also posts a lot of reasons why Fred was involved in some way to help his daughter disappear.
You mentioned that you don't believe Fred's a POI just for the sake of he wants the FBI involved. One can argue that he has done everything he could to make Local LE look so stupid that this is part of his bluff.
I think any logical person has to assume him being a POI. I'm not saying he's guilty but there is enough to make the case for him to be a POI in my opinion. People can't just discount him because emotionally they "feel" " He would never harm his daughter" and maybe he didn't kill her. Maybe he helped her runaway and start a new life.
I also find it very weird that family and PI's that work for Fred have never come out and stated a fact: " Fred was hear and therefore he could have never done it." Something that could be verified and everyone can go on searching somewhere else, but we don't get that in the forum. Even when post after post is pointing to him as a POI.
Again just my opinion.
They "grilled Billy when he got there" Fred may have a had a work order and a refusal to disclose info about working in CT on the day Maura left. But the only way I can see Fred being involved is if they decided togethjer to get away, clear their heads, ditch the car and report it stolen and possibly accompany her to any clinic, if this tid bit turns out to have merit.

I know that that first call police made to "Fred" was made to the wrong household. It was the one in Hanson, and brother freddy JR took that call. He was told to report her missing in the state of MA. Then a call went out to Katherleen, not sure who called her, but then she in turn, tried calling her dad. She heard back from him at 5ish. Meanwhile a correct call to the phone in CT went through and police aren't lying when they say they left messages for Fred. They DID. But, was Fred living at home in CT while doing this job at the hospital? Or was he staying in a room?
Why did police tell Sharon Maura might be heading to Ohio where she lived?

just me - laptop or desktop?
i'd alway heard "computer", but not specifically, laptop.
the transition to 'required' laptops at certain colleges/universities was just happening during those years.
perhaps hers was required at WP?

I wondered also if they could have possibly had his cellphone number. Surely Freddy would have thought to tell them, if you're clling for "dad", you'll have to call a different number.
Sorry for the rambed thoughts, I'm not well.

Murray Family Notes From Tuesday, February 10th, 2004:

"At approximately 5:00 or 5:30 PM Fred Murray receives a call from his daughter Kathleen. The Haverhill Police have reached her brother, Freddie Murray’s residence in Hanson MA (Freddie resides with his mother Laurie Murray, younger brother Curtis Murray and Maura when she is not at school.) The police reported to Freddie that they found an abandoned car owned by Frederick Murray. Freddie told them that was his sister’s car and they had to search for her. The policeman that talked to Freddie said that if she was missing, he would have to contact their local police department. When Freddie called the local police department he was told that he would have to call the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Police Department, Maura’s current residence.. Fred Murray, the father called Haverhill Police Department and begged them to start looking for Maura. It was almost 24 hours after her accident and no search other than a drive up and down either direction of the accident scene by Sgt. Smith and Butch Atwood had taken place. The officer who talked with Fred said they did not like to start a search that late in the day. He said that if Maura was not reported safe by Wednesday morning, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Service would do a search for her."

Do you know what the word "egotistical" means? Look it up, bud. Your comment makes no sense.

I hope I don't get flogged for this, but Maybe Fred lost her on that road, when and if she turned down a wrong way. And that's the part that will always haunt them, b/c it didn't go as planned?
What all did Maura and dad talk about at 11:00pm that Sunday night?

AND, if Maura had a black eye, maybe Sarah would know it, as she worked with Maura Sunday. But then again, Fred DID pick her up and drop her off at the univercity that Sunday. Maybe a side handed "PHWAP" ACROSS THE FACE. bUT THIS IS NOT NICE TO WONDER ABOUT IN MY MIND. wHO THE HECK WOULD KNOW IF fRED HAD EVER "lAID HANDS" on Maura. Or any of his children for that matter. His disputes seemed to be with his wife. True, he may have influenced his children to be all that they could be, he was coaching them too, but I see him as a normal and good father. OOH so he has porno books, so what? I don't put my mind into what people did in their own homes. Not cool.

i hadn't known Advocate to be a writer, but wonder if she has now become a source for material via the forum she organized? and her early connections to the inner circle surrounding the original MMM forum?
No, Snowy, I'm not collaborating with Renner or otherwise involved with his project. Like several here, I suggested a couple of possible avenues of information to him a couple of months back, but that's the extent of my contribution. Further, I have no "connections" to the inner circle re the original MMM forums.

From the notes made by Maura's family on Monday, February 16, 2004:

...there was no need for any assistance at this time.

***He said that he had spoken with Lt. Scarinza and that in the future Fred was to be the only person questioning LE and that Fred was to be the only one to contact Lt. Scarinza.***

Fred was quite surprised with this disclosure when he arrived and we later learned that Scarinza’s invitation to the FBI was limited to interviewing family and friends from the Hanson MA area (and to the best of our knowledge Umass). "
TY for the info.

the sentence i've placed between asterisks is unclear to me; it doesn't make sense.

there seems to be some interpretation of messaging from authorities to "family".

i'll ask who authored these notes, but don't expect to receive an answer.

Obviously not -- I said "possibly" and "my recall". I know that some of that information was discussed in the past, I don't remember whether on Topix or another forum and I don't remember who provided the information about him traveling to different hospitals for his work, etc.

Just saw this, thanks, had a friend at the door offering me a sandwich of all things.....
Thank you for this great and important post. I like it because it explains alot, and better than what I could do, that's for sure.
I feel bad they didn't start looking for Maura too. But they did on the night of the crash. SBD got his 4 wheeler out and drove around, and CS smith did too. No sign of her though. But just when and who saw ppl walking anyway? It's been said also that some were conming home from a town meeting and did some sort of looking that night as well. It BUGS ME that we are just now being told a couple of people were seen walking. BUT, if either of those two people were West of the accident, I can see the logic.
24 hours is the usual amount of time in most cases to wait for a missing person to show up somewhere. 36 minus 24 equals 12. So, I can't fault them that the extra time was too late in the day to get a dog and the right light. Also, going up into helicopters was good. They did a good long search and saw nothing but animal tracks. Ans a couple live animals, while looking. The thing to me is, was the snow as hard as a rock in NH that week? I don't think you can see footprints when you're walking on hard snow, and or ice. I've gone hunting and shooting in winter. True Minnesotan, I also icefish, usually in ppls icehouse.(don't like the damp cold), but this year I've had to b/c of the unsafe ice. It's not nearly frozen enough to be safe.

Umm I wasn't talking about him having pornos, if he's wants to that's his business, I was referring to the fact that high school year book photos of his distant cousins were found in the porno, which is fucking gross If u think about the implications of it.

the irritation for me, the rub, comes from a history of statements made "as fact" by FM's representatives over many years, all the while skirting answers to important questions relating to her disappearance.

truths were (and are) hidden, and information has been robotically repeated as truth with abandon over many years.

the conversations about FM's work-related activities have not been revealed, much less confirmed, and so no truths have been established. i, personally, don't give credence to anything suggested by these sources from the past.
