I've been reading here for some time but I'm not from NH and didn't have anything to add so I just read. I do have something I'd like to say if it's ok. It looks to me that the forum has been taken over by just a few people. Some of the other people that were posting have been chased away. Too bad because they added different opinions and information to the forum. Where are all the people that used to post here? Sorry to say it isn't interesting anymore to read the same old opinions being brought up by two or three posters. The whole forum has turned mean. I think this jwb guy has got his wish and cleaned house. Very sad to see this forum go so far downhill. This will most likely be my first and last post. And jwb rest assured I am not snowy or anyone else you've accused posters of being. I hope and pray that soon it will be known what happened to Maura Murray. In the meantime I'll find another forum where difference of opinions are welcomed and the posters arent chastised for speaking up. Good night.

Jenkins wrote: Has anyone here honestly ever seen an icy snowbank case a dent like is seen on the pic Brian posted, that sharp dent above the heaight that actually pushed the hood down over the light. Seriously think about it. I have never seem anything like that caused by a snowbank. Snowbanks make big dent, even icy ones aren't that hard. When I was 18 & first was in colleg in Nh I used to love the giant snowbanks in Nh bc I could drive like an idiot and not have to worry about messing my car up to bad. Between the age of like 16-20 I went into my share of snowbanks and a bunch of my friends did too, never saw anything like what happened to her car above the bumper. The damage below her bumper is much more consistent with hitting an icy snowbank,IMO Forget the backstory and just look at the picture. What might cause that damage? Pick, say 5 possibilities.

It's really hard to say, everything I come up with I find some sort of problem with. -truck bumper- seems a little too sharp a dent but possibly an 80's ford or chevy pickup with those metal bumpers that stick out far, but she would've had to hit that directly on the corner and it seems like Its hard to hit a car corner to corner. -trailer hitch- I dont get why other people were getting ridiculed for suggesting a trailer hitch. Bill had a running joke about trailer hitches that I never really got(what happened to that guy anyway he posted ALL the time) -person- I almost don't want to say this but honestly the only other time I've seen damage that looked very similar to this was way back in high school when my friend hit somebody in a crosswalk on accident. Broke the persons hip. Looked almost exactly like it with that sharp hole like dent. Anybody know if vasi broke his hip? I can't really think of too many other things that would make damage consistent with that but I'm sure there's a couple

The saturn definitely did not hit the tree or trees at the WB corner. That is obvious by the damage. People who agree watch out because soon someone will be here to knock that theory down. Times they are a changing...! John

Sorry about The double post.
Anybody else see the case the other night that a girl from Oregon was missing for 8 or 9 years, family thought she was dead. Turns out she was stealing/creating new identities the whole time until she got busted by the cops and had to do a few months in jail. She still hasn't gone home to talk to her family, but they know she's safe now.
I just gotta say that I truly hope that's what maura's doing right now. Unfortunately judging by her arrest in her dormroom she isn't very slick. I doubt she went from the worst cc their in the world to a master scam artist in 2 months.

Just go google images "1996 Saturn front end damage or crashes" Not too many big pine trees do that kind of damage that was done to Maura's saturn. John

I have been watching the stupidity from the sidelines for a while now. No point in responding. It's all the same stuff heard for years. Again, they think they are the first ones to think of some of these foolish musings. Since I have no more interest in telling them about all the things they have wrong, it is great fun to watch their minds run rampant and snicker. They have gone far afield of anything resembling the evidence in the case. Accusations without any basis in reality. Theories with nothing to back them up except smoke and mirrors. It is no longer my purpose to educate them. They are now allowed to spurt their stupid fantasies all over the forum. There is really no critical thinking, just one person trying to out-dream the next persons fantasy. Now that's entertainment. Keep 'em coming guys. You have no idea how many chuckles you have given us. Bill

Frostman wrote: <quoted text> Thank you for posting that visual of the front driver's side bumper again. To me it looks as if the Saturn made contact with a low solid object. Perhaps an icy snowbank, a cement or wooden post or the bumper of another vehicle? You're welcome, and I agree. Only thing with the icy snow bank - I read somewhere that around 2pm on that day it started warming up and made it to 33 degrees, which is above freezing. By 7pm, I don't see the snow bank being much more than slushy at best as far as its ice contents. And to reply to the poster that said other posters are being chased off: that is ludicrous. Anyone is free to post here. I don't see any of the ones posting for the past hour insulting anyone (except for Whitenoise because he came here not to post theories but to condemn Maura). If you don't like the info content, then take it upon yourself to read elsewhere. Thanks.

Obviously a tree didn't do that damage, just look at it. There is absolutely no way. The question is why did smith state this in his report? How can his accident report be SO wrong? It's crazy

If you don't like the info content, then take it upon yourself to read elsewhere. Thanks. The freeze and thaw can turn packed snowbanks into rock solid ice. Even on a fairly mild winter's day in February snow banks in Northern New England don't usually turn to mush in a day or so, even with above freezing temperatures during the daytime. If a snow-plow had cleared the snow out of Old Peters Road and packed it across the road on the north side of Rte. 112 (at WB) earlier in the month, it might have become a fairly solid mass by February 9th. Of course, if the bumper damage was indeed caused by an icy snowbank it would depend on the speed of impact, the angle of impact and the material the bumper was made from... along with other variables.
