For the record, there are alot of things her friends are not going to tell us. Renner was able to get that Maura's friends egged Maura on to start seeing the coach for some reason. No one seemed to know about that though. Sharon goes on record that Maura and Billy's troubles were in 2001 or 2002. Little did she know Maura was separated in the spring/summer of 03, and staying with the coach. She kept alot to herself, friends, some friends seemed to later reflect they had no idea what was going on behind closed doors.
For someone to live a double life and wish for only one, Maura may have made that decision.

Open the trunk and pull the levers coming from the back of the seats.

How do you fold down the rear seats in 2005 Saturn ion

Many contributors here agree that the airbag deployment could easily have cracked the windshield and given the discussion and examples provided in the past, I tend to go along with that. Here's an experiment on a similar vehicle:

Speaking of airbags... does anybody know how long they might have taken to DEFLATE?
Makes perfect sense thanks for clarifying

Thank you. No wonder the Weathered Barn site appears to be such a conundrum. Airbags up or airbags down, hair up or down, doors locked or flung wide open?
Yep. To your point about the spilled wine, and the possibility of doors open, I would think that a spilled red liquid all over the vehicle along with the driver missing, and a rag in the tailpipe would be more than enough probable cause to search the vehicle IMHO.

The original Bernie Marvin, NCN car photo must have been with the ignition switch turned on, or the car was running, nearly full tank of gas in that pic.

So I guess that answers that question.

Maura must have stopped for gas somewhere fairly close.

That white is just a shadow from the camera shot. I have seen the car up close in person on a few occasions.
There are NO transfers on the saturn, which is odd. No bark, No paint, No animal fur. So what did the saturn come into contact with.
John
How do you really know if there are no transfers to the Saturn without doing a complete "take apart" forensics?
I've seen cases solved years later where they find some fiber, maybe even a single hair on a car that was refinished to cover up a hit and run. And all it took was finding that one thing, like hair, even grass to link the car back to a suspected hit and run.

Just me/Paris - I hit "post" too soon. Was going to add that while this doesn't necessarily mean yes for a fact she was killed... it does seem that they are keeping their information guarded with good reason, because they want to convict someone later. They at least imply they have suspects in mind, which to me means it is not a suspected suicide. All just my opinion. You are entitled to yours. Nothing personal.

This is something that makes me think that the Saturn very well may have hit vasi.

I've only seen one other accident in myles where the damage looked similar to the damage on the front left of that car, & that was when my friend hit a pedestrian.
Had the same exact sharp dent but absolutely no scraping or transfers or looking at all like it hit something hard, like a trailer hitch. Generally a trailer hitch would leave some sort of outline or at least a scratch on the deepest part of the dent

That, and if you really want to know what happened to Maura's car, why not do a total strip down of it to find out? Maybe that's not possible. Might show if she spent time in the trunk, might still find different fingerprints than the ppl with permission to touch, move, examine the vehicle....

It's a bare bones no perk car, manual locks. Manual windows. U can't put in a remote if it doesn't have power locks

Hi Mcsmom, and thanks for the reply earlier.
All the gas stations were checked out I thought? And flyers were put up everywhere, motels, hotels, condo's, rest stops, gas stations, ie.

When I first took my cruiser to work, I was sitting in my trunk to show off what a big roomy trunk I had, when down came the top, lol. I was locked in. My coworker went to call police but even though I had only had the car for 1/2 a day, I felt my way around and found the safety latch,~got out myself. Maybe Maura had a remote starter w/perks, who knows.
That flurry of activity could have been to make room for herself, in which case she'd scoop it together when she got out down the line. I surely don't know. I'd like to think she did and is happy somewhere on this side of the rainbow.
So youlocked your self in the turnk? What a dope you are, ha ha

I do agree with you here in that the police are not giving out any information. I've read some of the papers and watched the appeals online for information. But I do think the protection they're asking for could be for other reasons that might damage the anonaminity of a witness statement. Just things. Hard to explain, but let's say someone has put something on the record. Something not necesarily connected to MM, but about someone who could be responcible for?....and they don't want to give that person away for saying so, lest they be harrassed. I just don't know, no, I have no idea.

No, my stu-pid coworker was all wound up and shut it on me. I kept my cool while I told him I was holding the keys in my hands, and what was i going to do now. I had to laugh, even though I was pissed, because I AM the one who sat in the trunk after all, lol.

If you look at the older pictures of the damaged Saturn (further out in the middle of the field) it appears that the car hit something with square corners. Probably the bumper had some give and popped back out, but the hood was indented. There also seems to be white residue on the front bumper and on the driver's side panel (which Det. Columbo says is the lighting). Later pictures of the Saturn and the ones taken by Mr. Renner show an ostensibly more damaged front end.

Ms. Smith: I'm concerned about that, because, again, this is, to the extent this is a small community, the people know... the people, the identity of those people is fairly well known."
This is from an official document, posted to Renner's blog:
http://mauramurray.blogspot.com/2012/02/what-...
"Assistant AG Nancy Smith says some interesting things while explaining why the records should not be released. Here's some highlights:
While we don't in any way suggest it's the case here, what we are being asked to do in this case would open up the state of New Hampshire and law enforcement investigatory files at a pre indictment phase to the suspected perpetrator as well as everyone else in the world."
This is an official person stating on the record "investigatory files at a pre indictment phase to the suspected perpetrator as well as everyone else in the world".
http://mauramurray.blogspot.com/2012/02/why-r...
The statement is both oddly broad and specific at the same time. It is specific as to say "the" perpetrator...singular, not "a" perp, as if, yet, unknown.
Since the father was seeking access, it's interesting that no one has been officially ruled out.
Further, it is possible 'everyone else in the world", in the broader context, suggests common knowledge in the public view, if revealed, could compromise the investigation.
Of course, they were looking for excuses not to release full info...this seems like a standard response.

As you can see the needle to the tank is on the nearly full mark.

Why fill the tank if the plan is to ditch the car?

Or commit suicide?

Or runaway?

What's up with all the damage seen in renner's pics?
How did maura's car get so much more damage from sitting in a field at the SP barracks?

Do the regularly let people come and vandalize cars that r impounded?
Do they regularly damage cars that r being potentially held as evidence?
There's a few things like this that r really difficult to find an innocent explanation for.
What could have possibly caused the extensive damage seen in renner's photos that is not there in the original photos taken from the same field?
