Maura Murray

I wonder, does anyone know what kind of car fred rented after Maura crashed his?

Something I never understood: what kind of accident forms did Maura have to pick up & fill out? I've never heard of this, has anyone ever heard of filling out your own accident reports?

Every time I've ever been involved in an accident the cops filled out the report. Then u have to pick it up to send to the insurance companies. Generally u can pick it up about 1-2 weeks after the accident and u have to pay a few dollars for it.
A couple if years ago my gf got in a minor accident driving my car after leaving class at umass. She was in Hadley actually at the same intersection Maura crashed at & I can tell u for a fact there was no accident reports she had to pick up or fill out. She had to go to the Hadley pd about a week later and pick up the accident report so I could send it to my insurance company.

I could see if your involved in a one car accident where there's no damage to anybody else's property & the cops aren't present. Then I would think u would have to pick up some sort of forms to fill out in order to make an insurance claim. But we know the cops were present bc they filled out an accident report. So why would she have to fill out her own forms? Obviously if LE makes an out accident report the insurance company won't need your report.

One other thing: in the accident report it states that she called fr a toe truck before the cop arrived. Meaning she had a cell phone on her. Since we know that the cell phone we all know about was left at her friends dorm room, that means she mist have had another phone on her. She must have had 2 cell phones, which would make sense considering her regular phones bill went to her bf's parents house every month

In fred's written statement to the cops I think he confirms she had another bf.

He says that When they went out looking for cars they went to a spot in noho bc her bf had good luck there in the past. Well that's cool except for the fact that Billy lived in Ohio, was stationed in Oklahoma & had gone to school at west point. He never lived out western mass or even in mass at all as far as I can tell, so when & why was he buying a car in Northampton?
Fred must have been talking about a different guy, right? Am I missing something here?

I think that when Fred wrote his written statement he never thought or intended it to be read by the public bc there's some glaring inconsistencies between that statement and what he told the public in interviews.
I wonder if that's why he refuses any and all interviews and tv shows unless he has absolute final say as to the shows content, which most journalists will not and should not agree to, that's just weird.

I'm from north Woodstock & I can't believe that I never heard about this case before! I've lived here almost 10 years so I was here when it happened, how was this not bigger news? I watch the news a lot but not every night. I did a search on YouTube and only found about 4 or 5 news stories. Is that really all the times this story has ever been on the news? I never even saw a missing poster or nothing. I just would have thought that a young pretty girl going missing would be big news.  Does the family not want this in the public eye for some reason? I've always thought that if someone in your family is missing you want as much publicity as possible because you are going to need the public's help if she is out there, or if she was killed there might be a witness out there who saw something but never heard of the case.  I'm also surprised that I've never heard anyone ever mention this around town. I would thing this would be the kind of thing that everyone would be talking about in town, but nothing. In the past few days I've asked everyone ive talked to about it and nobody has ever heard of it. Is that not strange?
    For the past couple of days I've been voraciously reading everything I can about this case, I think it is very interesting. The people posting on this forum and others are doing a good job at least somewhat keeping the case in the eyes of the public, now if only more people knew about & read topix. I've read many pages out of this thread and I believe that if it wasn't for all the forums dedicated to Maura over the years this case would have been forgotten long ago. I don't think that the more recent stories in the papers would exist if it wasn't for you people talking about it.
   

I just have to make a comment, the people who are making the personal attacks and jokes should be ashamed of themselves. What's the purpose of coming to this forum just to try to belittle people who are doing nothing more than discussing an interesting case? WTH-the-original and frmLE seem to think they know everything there is to know about everything, but all of their posts are personal attacks, trying to make people feel stupid for talking about their theories. That's just not right. If you guys know everything about this case then why don't you tell people where they are going wrong, rather than just tell people they are wrong? Seems pretty stupid to me and you guys are making yourselves look really stupid in the proccess. All the other posters at least try to back up what they are saying with a fact, or a witness statement or something. Just Saying

You should do fine here. Keep thinking that what is done here makes a difference. You lived several miles down the street and didn't even know she was missing. There have been people on this forum from Sweden and England who have been here for years. But, I am sure that now you are on the case, it will be solved in no time.

The disappearance of Maura Missing was covered quite well and regulary by the Caledonian Record....but, not by the local newspaper Journal Opinion.

that def strikes me as very odd. i mean just think about it. what r the chances she would pick the 1 place with no newspaper coverage, no tv coverage, and no cell service all at the same time. and i think its highly suspishus it was all at 8pm and at the exact time the red pu was there.
