RozShoem wrote: <quoted text>I know you read a lot, that's not the problem. You like those simple sentences though as they make it easier dredging for potential "facts." You should read, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. Really. It's a lovely story. Sorry, I'm not one for much fiction. I use to be years ago, mostly science fiction though. The last fiction that I read was a good read called the "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. You may have heard of it. Great literature. That was in High School some time ago. I heard they made it into a few movies. 8-) Anyways, "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" is rated as 3.1 on Amazon. Not too impressive, not that, that is the final arbiter but I doubt I'll be reading it anytime soon. I stick to mostly science and engineering journals, documentaries etc. I do recognize fiction when it shows up on these forums. I try to use the things I have learned to keep things straight as do some others, Wowzer, Snowy, and a few others. Bill

Bill Bill, Do you know what year Maura took a trip to Boston without telling family and friends? Also, do you recall the year she and family vacationed at at Bartlett? Thanks.

Thanks. I don't know the answers off the top of my head but, on the MM site might have that information. I remember pictures of her trip with her dad. The Boston trip she is supposed to have taken I don't remember either. Neither seem to me to have any real importance in this case. Bill

rozShoem wrote: <quoted text> Based on what I've read, an officer(?) responded to the first car off the road situation and upon arrival saw a female drive off. Then the officer responds to another report (2nd) of a car off the highway. If it was a police officer who responded to the first scene and identified the driver to be a female, wouldn't he have noticed something about the car as well? Close enough to determine the driver was a female and yet not close enough to recall anything about the car? If Maura had been involved in both incidents within minutes...it would seem as though an officer would have recognized that it was the same car (dark colored Saturn). Also, as she left the scene it would have seemed reasonable to pull her over to determine if she'd been drinking (dui, dwi)? Possibly a breathalyzer could have been administered. If the woman was driving off....and he did not stop her because he was being dispatched to the 2nd accident...it would seem that if Maura was involved in both incidents she would have had to been in two places at once (driving away from the first incident and involved in the second one simultaneously). Possibly it was a very busy evening. Did the officer ever mention it may have been the same car at both scenes? there is no factual or new information contained in this essay. there is no logical thought progression. try to work on some bullet points and organizing your "thoughts" before putting them to writing and subjecting others to non-sense.

Thanks. the short answer is that boston is a common and accessible destination for college students. unless MM was in the habit of telling family and friends her whereabouts (and that hasn't been confirmed from any reliable source), then it's not unusual to have visited boston.

Someone had written that initially(?) Maura's disappearance was not too much of a surprise because there had been a time in the past when she'd taken a trip to Boston without telling anyone. If I recall, it was more than a day trip.

Your negativity, irregularity or whatever you "suffer" from was not missed. Everyone needs to be somewhere, however.

They seem to want to imply boogie men for the most part. Agreed? There WERE two incidents. Because the first driver had not been stopped and interviewed there is not much information...other than mention that a female was driving away from the scene. The driver of the second accident scene was not interviewed as she was no longer around when the police officer had arrived.

Bill Bill, Possibly the flat tire thing was kept quiet to avoid mass public chaos should people come to believe someone was out there disabling vehicles and abducting drivers. A few weeks ago I looked at a few pictures of Maura's car....attempting to see if it would be possible to see if one of the tires were flat. Interestingly, the photos (at least the ones I found) do not show the tires. Front fender photos, etc...but no tire/wheel photos. If you know of any, please let me know that site where they appear. Thanks.

Thanks. You've avoided the question of who or what your source is concerning the flat tire. Could you please answer how you know she had a flat when as far as I know, no one else in over 6 years has heard this info. You evidently have never been to this area. To think someone would be lurking around in February trying to disable vehicles and abduct drivers is ridiculous. You now want to see pictures of the car to see if one of the tires were flat? I thought you KNEW she had a flat tire.

I'm still trying to figure YOUR need to be here because it seems your mission is to confuse and NOT help.

As I recall, the flat tire was first mentioned by Det Columbo claiming to have seen the Saturn at the impound lot in such a condition. It was never established at what point the flat occurred, if in the accident, during tow or later.
