JWB..I agree with your Posts today..ignore peanuts because it shows that local folks are reading.
I have written within the last years of KNOWING what the mind set is there. It won't change. One thing...when I speak of TM's...the usual reply is "why bother..the big guys run the town"...Is it a combination of fear and apathy...

This Forum won't find the answers...but, it keeps Maura's name out there so the locals won't forget..

A few years back, I met a policeman who said he was new. I asked if he was Haverhill...his answer was
"no way...that can of worms...!?"

Your words of FBI...my first thought is...who could or would request it....if the voters think this is the norm...?...they don't know anything else.

Supposedly this persons aunt is actually a county prosecutor in the grafton county courthouse, but I seriously seriously doubt that this prosecutor would take part in covering up a murder of a young girl.
There's definitely small town corruption taking place but this is beyond simple corruption
It wouldn't even be her in charge if the prosecution anyways, she us a local prosecutor, probably handling assaults at worst.
As far as I know they don't prosecute murder on the county level.
If there is going to be a murder prosecution I think it would be handled on the state level by saag strezlin, who argued in on of feeds cases.
Strezlin is in charge of the homicide unit of the states attorneys office.

I'm not sure exactly how this works but as far as I know this is being investigates by the nhsp and the prosecutor would be from the states attorney's office homicide unit.

There is just no way that the nhsp and the states attorney's office is going to take part in covering up a murder outright, certainly not for some county prosecutor's idiot nephew or whatever it is. We are talking about the son of a concrete co, not the son of a senator, & even still would they even cover that up?

It's just unbelievable, I would think that if the county prosecutor lady knew anything for sure she would turn the kid in. I'm sure she doesn't want to be caight covering up a murder of a young girl from mass.
But I also think that they would not charge this kid unless they have an airtight case.
Until they find her body there's no case.
Unfortunately this kid might never mess up somehow that would give probable cause for a search warrant.
Even the kid bragging about it isn't real probable cause unless he's specifically saying her name and probably even details that only the killer would know.
The judge is going to want fairly solid probable cause because what's the point of giving a search warrant if the evidence is going to get thrown out at a discovery hearing or in appeals.
The thing is if he grants a warrant on weak PC & they find a body, then the evidence gets thrown out at a discovery hearing because of the weak PC that evidence is done and it would therefore be impossible to prosecute the guy. The cops are not going to do this. They don't just want the public to know what happened, they want to send this guy away for life.
That would be the worst thing they could do us get a warrant based on faulty PC.
If they found the body but then subsequently end up letting the guy go because they searched illegally and the evidence is thrown out of court they would look so bad.
They won't do that, & they shouldn't do that.
There has to be, and there should be much better PC than rumors, bragging, owning a red truck & pouring concrete in February. Fortunately courts require a higher level than that to search your house.

Family from the beginning days of Mauras disappearance always wanted the FBI be brought in to help investigate her disappearance. But the FBI had said they could not investigate in NH unless they were invited in. They would have been able to investigate both states.

One way FBI can step in without being invited is to investigate based on "public corruption". IF the private investigators or anyone else has a solid lead that someone related to a prosecutor, or LE, or anyone else in a public position may have committed this crime... then they should report this info to the FBI, rather than post this on a forum. JMHO. The person reporting the info does not need to be a local or a voter. The FBI accepts tips from anyone.

The FBI website has some details about the types of corruption they investigate.
http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2010/march/co...

"Q: Where do you find this corruption?
A: Just about everywhere—at the federal, state, and local levels throughout the country. And I should point out, the vast majority of our country’s public officials are honest and work hard to improve the lives of the American people. But a small number make decisions for the wrong reasons—usually, to line their own pockets or those of friends and family. These people can be found—and have been found—in legislatures, courts, city halls, law enforcement departments, school and zoning boards, government agencies of all kinds (including those that regulate elections and transportation), and even companies that do business with government.

Q: How does the FBI investigate public corruption?
A: We’re in a unique position to investigate allegations of public corruption. Our lawful use of sophisticated investigative tools and methods—like undercover operations, court-authorized electronic surveillance, and informants—often gives us a front-row seat to witness the actual exchange of bribe money or a backroom handshake that seals an illegal deal…and enough evidence to send the culprits to prison. But we have plenty of help. We often work in conjunction with the inspector general offices from various federal agencies, as well as with our state and local partners. And we depend greatly on assistance from the public. So let me end by saying, if anyone out there has any information about potential wrongdoing by a public official, please submit a tip online or contact your local FBI field office. Your help really makes a difference."

Citigirl...I don't know if HPD gave a reason to the family that they didn't invite the FBI...can only guess they thought they could do it themselves and/or they didn't want FBI poking around in their official police business. Dunno..

I wonder if anyone has actually tried reporting this alleged corruption to the FBI.

I still just don't see them covering up a murder, yea taking kickbacks or some other way of making money, I could see that corruption taking place. Local LE looking the other way maybe even taking some themselves kind of thing. I could see something like that maybe happening, not saying it is or ive seen evidence of this, I'm just saying. I Can see that kind of minor corruption that takes place anywhere happening but I just can't see them covering up a murder.
That just seems crazy.

I think if they had any solid evidence linking this guy to the crime they'd arrest him in a second, bu they obviously don't. More than that it seems like they are really trying to catch this guy. The same people who say the cops suspect this person say that they've asked permission to search the property twice and were denied and they tried to get a search warrant once an were denied. Now this would be the homicide unit of the nhsp applying for a search warrant at the stare level not the local hpd. I dont think an assistant prosecutor would have the power to stop something like that.

Hi Amy,

A couple of idiot, one in particular here, have repeatedly talked about corruption, wrongdoing, incompetence, etc of the local police. Funny part is they have repeatedly been told to call the FBI with such claims, as well as the states attorney or federal attorney general, etc. But, they never do. No one according to them is trustworthy enough, or they just can't figure out how to do that. After eight years, it is clear, that they are full of shit, or are too stupid to figure out how to call an FBI office. Of course the last possibility is that they did look into the claims an found them, again, to be full of shit. I won't tell you who the prime proponent was but she has started to pollute the board again with her crap. She apparently thinks that either she has something to offer, hard to believe as she never has in the past. Or that no one still remembers what she had done and never expected that people would still call her on her bullshit.

Okay, let's think for a minute. What if this fella-who-shall-go-unnamed but who has bragged that he did it, actually did it? He has claimed he did -- which in the JonBenet case was enough to extradite a guy from Thailand and bring him to the USA for questioning.

Given this fella has some relation to law enforcement officials, it raises my eyebrows as to why there was a refusal to allow property to be searched. That's everyone's right, of course, but the majority of people see the value in complying when the issue is serious. I would think this fella's law enforcement family members would advise him to comply -- surely they know he has said he "did it". If they believe him innocent, it's in everyone's best interest for him to allow LE to check things out.

And, LE not being able to get a search warrant for this particular property may in fact be connected to the law enforcement official family member of this fella.

Could be enough to raise the point to the FBI and maybe get a granted search warrant out of it.

Another classic comment from someone without a clue. Her post is of course meant to do two things. First, to demean the locals by insinuating that they have less useful information, or knowledge or have less of a stake in this than others and should be ignored. And the second is that whoever are throwing these "judgements" couldn't possibly be as smart, or know as much as her.

This is someone whose neurons haven't been firing in a useful pattern for quite while. Get involved in her insanity at your peril. She will happily quote you "facts" and events that she has actually been witness to. And, when examined even superficially, you find that her information is incorrect. We have seen several examples of this already. Use any information from her at your own peril.

WTH and others who continue to make fun of people who have ideas that are different than your own..I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and I really have to wonder why you even bother to post on here. Obviously you have all of the answers already.(So you think) Is there nothing better for you to do but poke fun at people that are just trying to find answers and breathe life into the unknown? That is the whole reason why this forum has existed for so long. This mystery has always been compelling and people like to keep it alive for the sake of this poor girl. Why do you even waste your precious time? Why does it bother you so much? Why not just continue to believe you are such an expert and keep your superior knowledge to yourself if you are so tired of the "windmill"? Why not leave all the newbies (and others) alone to their theories. It is just a forum. Forums exist for this very reason.

Nope. No reason for me to tell about her history. It's well known and I have no intention of giving her any press that she doesn't deserve. She may wish to explain herself and we will be happy to point out any lies she may make.

And her danger is in that she appears to be giving useful information when in fact, it is often crap. People who are full of shit are ignored because, well, because they are full of shit and no threat because they can be seen as such. Dangerous people are the ones that appear to not be full of shit, but are and can't be identified as such. The wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak.
